We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Brandon Kent. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Brandon below.
Alright, Brandon thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.
I have been dancing professionally for 15 years now. I started when I was 11 years old doing solo and group competitions, I loved the experience and time I had competing!! But I realized I could begin to take it more serious when I placed 1st in the country in 2015 at National Fine Arts Festival in Orlando, FL
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Yes of course, my name is Brandon Kent and i was introduced into the dance industry when I began dancing for the Fine Arts Festival when I was 11 years old!
I provide a service that will bring high level performance in story telling and high energy andI provide classes that are more intentional behind your identity in dance.
My most proud moment will have to be achieving 1st place in the country in Urban Performance Solo!
I believe I’m set apart as a dancer because my focus and goal is far pass to achieve success. I want to leave a legacy and be a light wherever God has called me to be.
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
A huge lesson I had to unlearn was that “I can’t do it by myself”… I was purposely independent for so long because I didn’t come across much of anyone that had the work ethic I had when it came to perfecting my craft.
But God showed me through people & friends on how important it is to have people by your side.. working with you, growing with you, and holding you accountable.
How did you build your audience on social media?
I began to build an audience once I started expressing my ministry and heart for people to be honest! Bring a dancer was a plus!!!
But the more intentional I was to serve on my platform… The bigger my audience grew…
