We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Brandon Jordan. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Brandon below.
Brandon, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What do you think it takes to be successful?
I believe there are two key things in being successful in anything in life, and especially in being an artist/entertainer. You have to be well liked, and you have to be good at what you do.
Being well liked can be comprised of many different aspects. Having a welcomed appearance by your audience, having a like-able personality, and conducting yourself in a positively perceivable way. Not one person can please everyone you cross paths with, but it is important to be perceived in a positive way.
Being good at what you do is equally as important. Simply, you must produce a quality product. Being among the best speaks volumes in itself.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I am 27 years old and originally from Billingsley, AL. I first broke into the live music scene in 2020. While also serving a full time position in the Army National Guard, I have been able to log over 300 shows throughout Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, and in Texas. During that time I have been able to open for Grammy Award winning Kentucky Head Hunters, and Kid Rock endorsed Sweet Tea Trio. Earlier this year I began recording in Nashville. So far I have had the privilege of recording with Pino Sqillace (original member of Music Mafia), Peter Keys (member of Lynrd Skynrd), and other notable musicians in the Nashville area. Within the past year I have released 4 original songs, one of which (Drown Her Memory) has reached over 30,000 streams. I also have had the honor of being a cover model for the love novel series, “Don’t Close Your Eyes” written by author Lynessa Layne. During live performances I cover a variety of country, rock, and southern rock along with original songs. It is my goal to one day become a full time artist, and it is my mission to positively influence the world with the music I create.
What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
There has been a combination of things that has built my reputation. One of the biggest things has been honoring my word. I pride myself on fulfilling obligations to agreements with venue owners when I book a gig. It is important to me to bring the amount of band members they expect, begin the show on time, and perform for the expected duration. I also take a lot of pride in the quality of live performances. I always give everything I got when it comes to sound quality, lighting, and stage presence during the performance. It is my goal to ensure that venue owners as well as the crowd both enjoy my performances.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
The audience that has been built on my social media honestly has built itself. I have been blessed to have a good number of supportive friends and family that help spread the word about me. When I post events, clips of new songs, and videos of live performances, everyone shares and helps spread the word. I have been fortunate that others have seen what they have shared and have taken an interest in my music,
