We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Brandon Holland a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Brandon thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Can you walk us through some of the key steps that allowed you move beyond an idea and actually launch?
It started with a simple idea—Molding Heartz was born from the desire to touch every heart through art, whether film, reality TV, or storytelling in any form. I didn’t wait for perfect conditions; I started building immediately by putting structure around the vision and reaching out to collaborators who shared the same passion.
The first real step was turning ideas into concepts—developing shows and film projects from scratch, building treatments, and locking in stories that felt authentic. One of the biggest early breakthroughs was connecting with Ashley Lanier, who brought me the foundation for *More Than Hair Huntsville*. Together, we shaped the concept around her salon, Elements of Salon 721, and co-owner Chandra Glover, turning real-life energy into a compelling reality series.
From there, it became execution mode—assembling a team, planning production, and pushing through filming and post-production with intention. The show premiered January 1, 2026 on Remy Ma Network and quickly gained momentum, holding the #2 spot for weeks and staying in the top ten most-watched shows since launch. That success came from staying consistent through every phase—idea, development, production, and release—until the vision became real on screen.

Brandon, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I’m Brandon Holland, a Writer, Producer, and Executive Producer dedicated to creating film, television, and stage projects that reflect real-life stories with heart, culture, and purpose. I got my start in theatre, establishing myself as a playwriter with my 2009 stage play *I’ve Got To Tell It*, which opened the door for me to write and produce several successful productions including *The Struggle Is Over*, *He Completes Me*, and *A Family Mess*.
From there, my work expanded into film and television, where I’ve continued building stories that connect with audiences on a deeper level. I’ve had the opportunity to work alongside and collaborate with notable talent including Kim Burrell, Ying Yang Twins, and Le’Andria Johnson, as well as gain on-screen experience through projects like *BMF* on Starz, BET’s *Sunday Best*, and Centric TV’s *My Current Situation: Atlanta*.
Today, I serve as Executive Producer of *More Than Hair Huntsville* on the Remy Ma Network, along with a growing slate of film and TV projects streaming globally on platforms like Amazon Prime, Tubi, and Apple TV. My company, Molding Heartz, is built on the mission of “touching every heart through art,” developing content from concept to completion while creating opportunities for authentic storytelling.
What sets my work apart is the balance between strong business structure and creative storytelling rooted in real people and real experiences. I’m most proud of building a brand that not only produces content, but creates impact—bridging theatre, film, and television while staying true to culture, community, and storytelling that lasts.

Is there something you think non-creatives will struggle to understand about your journey as a creative?
Most people look at social media and think creating is just about fame and followers, but it takes a lot of sacrifice to do what you love at a high level. I work a 9–5 teaching middle schoolers while still building my career in film and TV and creating the stories and life I want.
That means missing family and friends events—not on purpose, but because I’m constantly balancing work and building a business. Even love life and dating becomes almost nonexistent because time is limited. It’s not easy, but it’s worth it when you’re committed to your purpose and the vision you’re building.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
My creative journey is driven by freedom—the ability to create what I love, when I want, and on my own terms without limitations. At the core, I want the freedom to tell meaningful stories across film, television, and stage that truly connect with people.
It’s also about building financial wealth for my family, creating something sustainable that can be passed down and change the trajectory for generations after me. At the same time, I stay grounded in my love for the art itself—the process of writing, producing, and bringing stories to life is what fuels me every day.
For me, it’s not just about success in one area, but building a life where creativity, purpose, and financial independence all work together.
