We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Brandon Griffin a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Brandon, appreciate you joining us today. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
My name is Brandon Griffin and I am the Business owner and founder of The Outcast Outlasting Designs New LLC and Author of The Outcast Will Outlast.
I started this business in the beginning of the pandemic in 2020. My meaningful mission for this platform is to empower, encourage, and help people that have felt rejected and was overlooked and put to side because they are unique and did not fit into society, causing great rejection and disappointment by the world and peers. I created this platform and books to inspire and let people know that it is okay to be different and to embrace themselves and live out loud unapologetically, using my story to help people come out of what they have endure.
My mission for others is no matter what you go through in life as a Outcast but you Will Outlast everything that you have been through.
Brandon, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
The Outcast Will Outlast is based of the Bible verse Matthew 20:16“So the last will be first, and the first will be last.”
I was an Outcast my whole life. Growing up being the oldest of 24 siblings, I was the unique child but experienced some great heartache and childhood trauma coming up.
How I got into the industry was a miracle from God. One day I started writing all my pain and things I’ve been through in a journal. My journey began through a pen and it created a writer’s anointing through my hands. I found a new passion through writing and I’ve been writing ever since.
Learning how to master discipline through pain because when you are writing non fictional books sometimes you have to re visit some painful moments. However, it taught me to manage my healing and never stop writing. It all begins with a rough draft, then the story to create a book and a powerful ending. I provide empowerment sessions and group sessions to manually or virtually create visual assignments and class projects to push destiny and purpose of other outcast with a secure non judgment free zone to become who God calls them to be. One on one coaching sessions and prayer.
The problems I’ve solved for clients that I have is the reconnecting to their inner selves and restoring those moments of pain and frustration into a purpose plan to empower others.
What sets me apart from others is that my ability to be pressure and produce under pressure and to continue to push even when I don’t feel like it. To continue to be press and change the world with my story.
The most proudest thing I am proud of myself is that I never gave up. With so much going on in the world today and so many people are battling and going through, I am so happy that I never quit going. I may have bend but that I didn’t break. For potential new clients and fans I want to know no matter where you been and who gives up on you, to continue to be authentically you and press through the pressures of life to become who you are called to be. Just try me out and what for the results later to come.
Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
The most effective strategy for growing my clientele was by being transparent. Transparency will attract attention to those that want to know your story. Working in the market place talking with people and sharing my history has been the most effective strategizing strategy I’ve used in the past two years. Sharing my testimony. Doing lives and podcast and relating to many realities and speaking has gain me many followers. Through that I was able to get people to buy my books and join my classes.
We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
The lesson I had to unlearn and the back the story of it is. I had to unlearned what I learned that was causing me pain. Unlearning that I wasn’t loved or that I could not do the impossible because of my past mistakes and because of the circumstances that happened in my life caused me to be crippled in a season when I was suppose to be producing. I had to unlearn that never allow anyone to place limitations on your worth and you don’t place limits on yourself because of the negative seeds that were spoken over your life. Your wounds are valuable and they will make you successful with you unlearn and relearn again.
