We recently connected with Brandon Gaydorus and have shared our conversation below.
Brandon, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today So, let’s start with a hypothetical – what would you change about the educational system?
Hands-on learning. After mentoring High School and College students for Two Years (Fall of 2019 to Summer of 2021), the main thing I learned is that students are struggling to relate what is being taught in school to real-life situations,
The main thing I’d change with Universities is having student working while in school to ensure they like what they are doing and allow what’s being taught in school to be more applicable.
For example, if a student is working. Personal Finance class will be 10x more applicable because the students can use their actual profit and loss statements.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Brandon is a 4x Author and Founded Warm Heart Life in 2019. On the day-to-day, he focuses on helping individuals execute on personal, professional, and financial goals. He has been passionate about bringing personal development to his town of Stamford, CT, through events like A to B Con 3 (May 2024), A to B Con 2 (April 2023), the A to B Conference (May 2022), Map Your Way to Financial Freedom (October 2021), and a combination of both In-Person and Virtual Speaker Schools. After being the youngest voted on Golf Digest’s Top 50 Trainers in America List in 2019-20. Brandon decided to shift his focus from Fitness to Personal Development with the intention of growing together with as many people as possible. Through his speaking schools, mentorship programs, and guest speaking engagements, Brandon has completed over 200 speaking gigs!
Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
When the pandemic hit, I didn’t know what to do. My mentor told me he didn’t either. He then followed that statement by saying, even though we don’t know what is going to happen. If you can be there for your people, you’ll figure out where to go next.
So, I started mentoring High School and College students on Zoom for 5 to 7 Week increments. After taking on 4 interns in the Fall of 2019 I realized how much these students needed a mentor teaching them concepts from real life situations.
Eventually all of this turned into my second personal development book called “Skip College, Read This.” And transitioning to teaching Speaker Schools at the start of 2022.
Can you tell us the story behind how you met your business partner?
I started teaching speaker schools with Carl Michel in the beginning of 2022. He made his living speaking in the NYC School system and was a guest speaker at my 1st Personal Development conference in the Fall of 2021.
2.5 years later we have taught these all around North America (Stamford, CT – Laguna Beach, CA – Toronto, Canada – Chicago, IL – New York City, NY – Miami, FL) and are about to teach our 16th one together on June 14th & 15th in Stamford, CT!
