Brandon, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Has your work ever been misunderstood or mischaracterized?

I prefer to be judged as more than just African American. I would like to people understand that I don’t have Cancer and that Bloom The Cancer is by my zodiac sign included in the name. Also I Feel people judge me before they even know me, but if you take the time to get to know me. Probably understand that I’m a good person at heart, but in life there are ups and downs. Just like there is Good and Bad in the World. I would like people to understand me through Music and Poetry I write. If you know you know..you know? Just Saying

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

My artist name BloomTheCancer comes from (Bloom for liking red roses Blooming and Cancer is my Zodiac Sign..so together BloomTheCancer. I like making laidback music that you can jam as if it was on the radio and you were like cleaning up around the house listening to BloomTheCancer..ME. I have been working on a poetry book that will soon be out in a 4 or 5 months or less(So stay updated with me for my poetry book to be available)

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?

The most rewarding aspect of being a music artist is that fans listen to my music and get inspired by it. I also deal with schizoaffective disorder with bi-polar. So, I try to inspire and bring awareness to mental health to as I become more wiser.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?

Music is my Passion and Poetry is my Talent. I Like to be known as a Music Artist, because I can do more than just one genre of music. I would like to be able to do what I love and passionate about.
