We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Brandon B. Goehner. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Brandon below.
Brandon, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Are you happier as a creative? Do you sometimes think about what it would be like to just have a regular job? Can you talk to us about how you think through these emotions?
Am I happy being a creative person? Absolutely! Nothing is more exhilarating than seeing something come to life; creatively speaking. From an idea or a riff to a full length song or album. I live for the process.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
For over 20 years now, I’ve been enjoying the creative arts & sciences behind audio engineering and recording.
It’s all so fascinating.
Understanding how sound behaves in a particular environment, how it travels, the attack & decay as well as the way it’s perceived by the human ear.
I appreciate spending time with a wide variety of creative types; musicians & artists are some of my favorite people to work alongside.
I enjoy the recording process- It’s always an adventure finding the best way to capture the different instruments (sonically) and the way they are performed. It’s never a dull moment.
The best part of it all… is mixing it all together. Making it sound cohesive, dynamic and enjoyable for the listener.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
As a music fan, it is so rewarding being a part of the creative process. I have the benefit of listening to some of my favorite music as it’s being written & recorded. Often times with my own input. Words can not explain how it feels to go back and listen to music I’ve recorded with friends and acquaintances.
I just love music and want to be a part of it any which way that I can.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
I don’t really have a destination. As far as I see it; I’m here. I’m there. I’m already doing what I love. It would be nice to win a Grammy someday. I’ll keep working towards that goal.
