We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Brandi Ray a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Brandi , appreciate you joining us today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
My mission is to empower others to know that they have The Power To Choose.
Power to choose the direction of their life.
Power to choose the legacy they will leave.
Even that which we did not choose for ourselves, we can choose to change.
Working as a court reporter I witnessed many lives ruined by the excuse, “I didn’t have a choice.”
We all have voices.
We all have choices.
And the both have the power to create change.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My name is Brandi Ray and I worked for 20 years in the criminal justice system as a court reporter, also known as the “silent person” in the courtroom.
After listening for many years to lives being ruined because of poor choices, I decided it was time for me to speak up and encourage more people to make better choices.
Then was birthed my mission, The Power To Choose.
My very life was a major choice, as doctors told my mom that for health reasons I would not be born, but she made choices that led to my life, and now I am committed to living my in a way to give others courage to make better and bolder choices as well.
How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
As I made the choice to step away from a 20-year career it came with a lot of discomfort and uncertainty.
The easiest thing for me to do would have been to stay in the place that was familiar, but it is true, magic happens outside of our comfort zones.
Since owning my power to choose to change the course of my life, I have had the opportunity to travel around the US sharing a message that has empowered others to live courageously and choose to live life to the fullest.
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
Resilience is required to reach any level of success. My journey has required me to be resilient in faith for what is possible. I have had to have resilience in my ability to learn new skills. I have been resilient in the decision not to turn back when times got tough.
Resilience is a muscle. The more you work it, the stronger it becomes.
