We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Brandi Inman . We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Brandi below.
Brandi, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Before we get into specifics, let’s talk about success more generally. What do you think it takes to be successful?
The number one thing I think it takes to be successful is to accept failure.
So many business owners, artists and entrepreneurs are so afraid of failing. But really, failure is the best way to learn. It’s the only way to eliminate the things that don’t work for us. Once we fail, we can take those lessons and apply them to the things that do work for us.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I am a natural light lifestyle photographer in the Atlanta area that specializes in family photography. I started my photography career in 2003 shooting mainly on film in and around the North GA area.
I have build a business around the idea of letting families document their real life in the spaces they call home, focusing mostly on playful, in the moment sessions.
Any thoughts, advice, or strategies you can share for fostering brand loyalty?
In the business of family photography I have found that getting to know my clients has been my biggest strength. I like making conversation with them during sessions, learning about their interests and family life. I love being able to ask kids about school and their hobbies at every session. These people trust me enough with their lifelong memories. It’s only human nature that I would want to get to know them on a personal level.
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
Patience.
Number one. Working with families has to come with patience. I have nervous first mothers, toddlers who may have skipped nap time and shy family members who are a little unsure about meeting a new photographer in an unfamiliar setting.
Patience has helped me build trust with clients. The fact that I am willing to take a step back, let everyone breathe for a moment with a calm demeanor helps so much.
