Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Brandi Horne. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Brandi thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What do you think matters most in terms of achieving success?
First and foremost, find what you’re passionate about and go do that. Being successful happens when your work is in alignment with your authentic self. The main ingredient to being successful is being resourceful. You’re going to hit a lot of road blocks along the way and when that happens you can you take one path or the other but you have to keep going. There’s almost nothing you can’t figure out by researching in the internet – that’s how I initially taught myself before receiving formal training and refinement. I watched hundreds of videos and practiced until I got it right. Also, never take no for an answer. There are a lot of people who will see you as a threat when you enter their field of work and not want to help you, don’t let that stop you…keep asking because there’s plenty of kind and helpful people out there! The most important thing is, never give up on yourself, if you fail….keep trying until you succeed at something that brings you joy.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I design custom hats that are as unique as each one of my clients. When you invest in a Liberty Ranch Hat, you’re investing in a timeless piece that is quality made & worthy of being passed down through generations. I specialize in classic & timeless styles. However, I also make edgy and rustic pieces as well.
I got my start in making custom hats through my own love affair with wearing hats. I went to a store to have a custom green color hat made. When they told me that they don’t make that color, that is when the idea popped into my head that I could make my own. I’ve always been a creative person and can learn things quickly. So I taught myself and now that same military green is one of my best selling colors.
One thing that sets me apart from other hatters is that my hats transition from city to country quite well, and my hats aren’t for only one genre of people. I specialize in what makes my client look and feel their best & showcases their individuality. My hats are about being exactly as you are. My classic and best selling shape looks good on both men & women and makes them feel confident whether they are jet-setting, going out to the ranch, or just grabbing drinks with friends at their favorite bar. My hats are meant to be lived in and worn all of the time. I encourage people to get outdoors and wear them in all conditions.
I’m a country girl at heart and an independent thinker, which the name of my business reflects. The snake brand that adorns the side of each hat represents creative life force & the delicate balance between Grace & Grit.
What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
I’ve grown my business strictly through word of mouth. I don’t do any advertising and my business has grown organically. My clients wear their hats and people ask them where they bought it. I have amazing clients who are so amazing at sending hat lovers my way. My clients will even text me to let me know they saw another LRHC hat in a different town. The coiled snake on the side of the hat is a dead giveaway that it was made by me. If you make a quality product that people genuinely love, it sells itself.

Any thoughts, advice, or strategies you can share for fostering brand loyalty?
Many of my clients also become my friends, so staying in touch is enjoyable. I offer 48 colors, & countless customization options so there’s a lot to choose from & people often return for a new color. Sometimes they return to buy one of my hats for a significant other, a friend or family member. So when they leave with their first hat, it’s usually not the last time I’ll see them. I also like to post pictures of my clients wearing their hats out in the real world. So I always ask them to share photos they don’t mind me sharing, so that helps keep open the line of communication. I love my clients and I’ve been very fortunate to get to work with people I enjoy knowing.
