Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Bran’Dee Williams . We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Bran’Dee, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. The first dollar your business earns is always special and we’d love to hear how your brand made its first dollar of revenue.
I got my first client my senior year of high school. The client’s name was Diamond Johnson and she too was a senior at a different high school, but we kept contact through Instagram. She asked me to do her makeup for prom and she had her on product ,so I only charged her 20 bucks. Social media is still a key factor in me gaining new clients till this day.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I am a 27 year old entrepreneur. I am in the beauty industry specializing in wigs and makeup.I got into beauty because when you look good you feel good. Helping uplift others through beauty is really a blessing because people go through a lot and making them look good helps them get through life a lot easier. I do wig installs, wig construction, eyelash application and full faces. I am super excited to be doing wig donations through “Wigs for Warriors“ an organization that I started that donates wigs to people that suffer from hair loss.
How did you build your audience on social media?
Every entrepreneur should use social media. Facebook to be specific; it has been a key factor in me getting and retaining local customers. Anyone with a business specializing in goods should be on Facebook market place. It is a key source in sales boots!
Can you open up about how you funded your business?
The pandemic pushed me to becoming a real entrepreneur. I said a real entrepreneur because I have always been in sales because I have a hustle mentality but putting your business on paper is a bigger step. But when I lost my job and had to get unemployment I realized that entrepreneurship would be the only way I could control my own destiny. Then I purchased my llc with my first 600 dollar unemployment check.
