We recently connected with Brady Adam and have shared our conversation below.
Brady, appreciate you joining us today. We’d love to hear the backstory behind a risk you’ve taken – whether big or small, walk us through what it was like and how it ultimately turned out.
In late 2021 I took a risk. I sold the Barbershop that I had opened in New Hampshire, to move almost 4,000 miles across the country and start from scratch. Now i have been in Los Angeles for almost 2 years and it has been the best choice I ever made
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I am a barber and a traveling educator. I originally got into the industry after suffering a career ending injury in baseball. I pride myself on being able to blend creativity with conventionality for my clients. I am most proud of my 7 international hair award nominations over the last 2 years. I’ve been selected out of 300,000 entries and it really feels good to have my passions validated in that sense. The other thing that I am most proud of is my ability to accommodate any and all of my clients. Whether it is starting work hours before the shop opens or staying late, or even doing house calls. My clients are my main priority and i always want to make sure they are taken care of
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
The biggest goal or mission for me is to show people that the situation you’re in can never define you. I am from a small town of 1,000 people and I always just wanted to show people that we can make it out, and we don’t have to be stuck in a small town mindset for ever
Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
In mid 2020 I gave my notice at the place I was working that i had hopes of opening a barbershop in the coming months. I was given six weeks to leave, and in those six weeks I found a location, did a complete renovation, and had the shop finished.
