Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Bradlee Jaay. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Bradlee, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?
I’ve always dreamed of becoming a professional singer and songwriter since childhood but when I knew I had to make my dream a reality was when I released my first EP, BLOOM. In hopes to earn a fair living wage while working on my creative goals I worked full time and went to graduate school. I thought it would bring me financially stability, which it did to a certain extent, but even when I graduated I still felt a gaping whole. This is when I discovered that no matter the fancy title or facade of financial stability- music was my only true passion. So I quit my full time associate director position, picked up 2 part time jobs that allowed me to spend more time in the studio and performing and have been working towards my music goals ever since. It was best decision I’ve ever made. Putting music first has opened countless doors. Turns out all I needed was more faith in myself and in the process of becoming the artist I truly aspire to be.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
I’m Bradlee Jaay, a singer and songwriter from and based in Los Angeles, CA. I began writing for other artists at 19 years old and have released several singles and an EP called BLOOM. I recently opened up for Baby Bash at The Garden Amphitheatre on 2/14/23 and perform all around Southern California. Music is my passion and I want to become an internationally known and appreciated superstar. I sing R&B, Pop, Gospel and any genre that moves me. You can listen to my music on all streaming services and you can follow me on Instagram and TikTok @bradleejaay.
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
Being able to bring my fullest and most authentic self to the mic and having the ability to communicate my feelings and on behalf of others when I write music. It brings me an unshakable joy and I want to create music for the rest of my life.
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
What drives my creative journey is the love affair I have with expressing myself through song. I feel most at peace when performing in front of people who love and appreciate music. I’m currently independent but I aspire to have the backing of an ethical team and record label that supports my authentic talent and nature.
