Hi Brachelle, thanks for joining us today. Can you talk to us about a risk you’ve taken – walk us through the story?
I was a young single mom right out of high school. All of my friends were going to college and I had to make the choice of what my next step was going to be. This was a hard choice but I thought it over a few months. I decided college wasn’t the right step for me and I decided to go the trade school route. I always loved the beauty industry and thankfully my sister in law was already in the industry as an esthetician so she helped me with deciding on this path. I went to esthetician school and absolutely loved everything about it. When I graduated I had to make a choice of working for someone or taking a risk and having my own business. I decided I wanted to be a leader and have control over my own schedule so I decided to go out on my own. This was a huge risk for me, I had no business background and I had to learn everything as I went. I started off in a small laundry room in the back of a salon. I built my clientele as I went and I also bought products and supplies as I went because I didn’t want to be in debt and thought that was the smartest choice starting out. I then grew and grew and expanded into larger buildings and now have a wonderful team of employees. If I wouldn’t have taken the risk, I would never be where I am today and I am so thankful for all of it.

Brachelle is the owner and founder of Brachelle’s Beauty Lounge. She has 8+ years of experience in the beauty industry. Brachelle is a Licensed Esthetician and has been a certified lash extension artist since 2016. She has been certified and specializes in lash lifting, Skin Script RX skin care, teeth whitening and brow tinting. Brachelle is very appreciative of her business and career she has established, she takes pride in treating each client as an individual. You’ll leave feeling pampered with your own naturally enhanced beauty. She enjoys spending time with her daughter and furbaby. When she is not working, she is traveling, trying out different restaurants and hanging out with family.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
Starting out a business on social media can be very hard. You need lots of patience and organization. Starting out one thing that really helped out my business was doing giveaways. I was able to write this off as a tax deduction so it was a win/win. I would give away a product or service and I would have my followers (which were most of my family and friends starting out) follow the giveaway rules, like the post, comment a friend, like my page and then share the post. This would then give me more exposure with more people and this helped me grow. Then the most wonderful thing happened and my lovely sister who owns Costal Tourism and Marketing started up her own business and she took over my social media and google pages. This made my business take off. I highly recommend if you have it in your business budget to hire a social media marketer to help you with your page. Social media is constantly changing and it’s difficult for someone who isn’t educated in this field to keep up with all of it.
What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
I would say the top two resources that attract new clientele is word of mouth and social media. The most important thing you can do for your business is always have a good reputation. This is where word of mouth comes in, at Brachelle’s Beauty Lounge It is our goal to exceed your expectations and establish a long lasting relationship of trust and commitment. Social media is a huge part of our world and that’s how you will grow your business. The past year of 2023 I have been getting new clientele through google. I have to give my sister who owns Coastal Tourism and Marketing the credit on that one.
