Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to BoogieLo. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi BoogieLo, thanks for joining us today. Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?
The most meaningful project we’ve worked on is actually our upcoming project titled, “Luv Life” as of right now. It’s a double meaning, the process of enjoying everything life has to offer good and bad, but also dealing with an actual romance factor in terms of one’s love life. Two things which we believe shape individuals into certain beliefs and lifestyles. It not only serves as something that the majority can relate to but it’s also stories from our actual lives that organically came together by simply… living life. It means a lot to us because as artists we’ve always wanted people to get to know us through music and we feel like this project came together organically through life experiences allowing us to piece it together and form it into this project in which we feel does a good job at representing what life for people in their 20s could be like as well as these personal stories that we’ve experienced that also fit the narrative.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Our story actually started off just as an experiment. Music is something we grew up around and is something that we were able to bond over with our other friends and once we dipped our toes into what we could do, we saw potential in it and never really looked back after that. Over the years, we’ve done a good job at balancing each other out between being meticulous about every detail in the song but also taking a chance on our gut instincts. Overall, the biggest thing I would tell someone about our brand is that the intention is to give you a piece of us whether that be our lives, imagination, or other crazy fantasies, etc. every time we release something. We want the listeners to feel like they are apart of the journey with us, or that we’re on their journey with them. We want them to feel synchronized with the emotions and the sound.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being an artist is hearing someone enjoy your music in this case. Seeing people make memories, seeing people listen to our music to get them through whatever personal hardships they may be going through. That’s the connection we want, to feel bonded through a record despite where we come from, what we look like, what we sound like. It’s the best feeling in the world knowing people play your music because of how it helps them.

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
The pandemic really put us at a halt. We had big plans leading into the summer, we had shows lined up, the music seemed to be flowing at the right time, and it really felt like we found a good groove as a group. And everything changed almost instantly, receiving calls about the shows being canceled, Marlo was graduating that year so it was question of what graduation was going to look like that year which was huge because we know how hard he worked and for that moment to be altered will always hurt a little bit no matter how you look at it. Honestly, all of that just led us into a spiral with other personal issues and it seemed like music was the last thing we could focus on at the moment and it sucked. It hurt, it felt like the biggest amount of betrayal, and to tell you that it never crosses our mind at what could’ve been would be a lie. It’s just something we look at and know we have the tools and the potential it’s just staying the course and staying true to the brand and those plans will reoccur hopefully even bigger opportunities then before.
