Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Bonnie Lee. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Bonnie, thanks for joining us today. So, naming is such a challenge. How did you come up with the name of your brand?
I had already acquired the name unleashed from my 1st business venter (carnival) and I wanted this new business to act as a branch of my already established name, if you take a look at my 1st logo it is a lion busing out unleashing his joy and love for life on the world my new business logo is also a lion but in a softer more parental friendly manner and a lion cub playing with sed lion and a butterfly . over all my brands are an example of my own growth and maturity i have a child now and i want to cater to parents and children in the same way my 1st brand catered to our adults,

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
Being a parent requires needing a second pair of arms. We recently had our 1st child, and instantly the floor became lava. Whenever we put him down, he would start crying. We had to find a solution.
While shopping online for the essentials I quickly noticed there weren’t many options for baby carriers. I bought my 1st traditional carrier and realized that my newborn was too small to fit, and he would cry because it seemed to have caused him pain in the groin area. My husband bought me my 2nd carrier, but it was too much fabric and too confusing especially to try and put it on by myself.
Then I started to daydream and think, what would be better and more comfortable for the baby and I. First off, less fabric; but it had to be adjustable, something that would grow with the baby. I wanted to be able to move around doing my day to day, so I needed it to be hands free. My son grew to be a big boy so I also needed something that distributed his weight well, so I wouldn’t have back pain. Lastly, I wanted something stylish so I created my own version of the carrier! And it’s perfect!

Alright – let’s talk about marketing or sales – do you have any fun stories about a risk you’ve taken or something else exciting on the sales and marketing side?
one of my favorite marketing and sales stories i would have to say is a candid moment between father and son, while filming and taking videos for my promo my model (my sons father) started to dance with our son in the carrier, attached to his chest, i posted the video on Instagram a month after just as a joke, jokingly saying “this is what happens when you leave dad with the baby, at least you know baby is safe and secure in our carrier” and it went viral! in that moment is when i realize how much people love to see dads with their children! to this day my main costumers are MEN! and throw that post i got the most sales and attention to date.

How’d you think through whether to sell directly on your own site or through a platform like Amazon, Etsy, Cratejoy, etc.
i have my own website which is Great! but i also sell on etsy and amazon, the pros are that you can be found on all platforms so you are exposed to a wider variety of costumers, the con is how hard it is for people to find you if they don’t know your company name or in the case of amazon it gets extremely hard if you don’t know how to promote yourself properly on there and you literally have thousands of competitors doing the similar products as you are
