We recently connected with Bonnie Gandy and have shared our conversation below.
Bonnie , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Risking taking is a huge part of most people’s story but too often society overlooks those risks and only focuses on where you are today. Can you talk to us about a risk you’ve taken – it could be a big risk or a small one – but walk us through the backstory.
I feel like the biggest risk you take as a business owner is the first one- having your own business. There are so many parts of the risk: most people risk their career at the time or risk the path of building it through someone else’s business. You risk courage daily as you continue to believe in yourself and goals and dreams and desires when you may be the only one doing so. You risk vulnerability as you continue to walk solo out on the limb. You risk trust with your family and friends. It’s such a beautiful yet big life lesson. I was a teacher and administrator for a school for years and chose to leave to build my business. I remember my last day at school. It felt like I jumped off of a small cliff on a really hot day into some nice refreshing water. The short gasp as your face rises to the top but still smiling with excitement- sums it up.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I am an intuitive guide and mentor. I channel Akasha, or Divine Knowing, through the Akashic Records. I believe we are all already part of divine knowing and we have a built in channel with that knowing just like we have a built in digestive system. I help people understand this Divine Knowing during sessions, or classes. The ‘reading’ or session is a Q and A from your Self with your Soul. If feels a lot like a counseling session with your own Spirit. I describe it as a Birds Eye view of your life chart through the lens of your soul.
I am a mom of three beautiful children and one fur baby. With this work, it doesn’t shut off or you don’t put it down at the office and head home. I mean, I have specific schedule times for sessions, however my children, family, friends are all part of my work. My kids will often say, “Mom, just tell me in normal language.” Lol. In which I can only answer, “we didn’t come here to be normal- no one did.” Lol
I love my work! I say it after every session and I’ve been doing this 10 years. What my clients know they can expect is the full truth with Grace. I help guide each session in full ownership through each humans knowing. It’s beautiful. When we are made aware- when you get that ‘Aha’ feeling, you grow. Growing in awareness is expansion- which means more love.
Most clients are weekly, bi-weekly or monthly. I ‘read’ or channel the individual’s Akashic Records to navigate the deepest meaning for what experiences are happening in their lives at the time. Question s range from: “why do I keep feeling back pain”, to “is this person right for me”, to family connections and disconnections, to past lives and ghosts dropping in for visits.
I take my work to heart. It’s a part of me. It’s my destiny, purpose and I believe why I’m here.
Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
This is a great question. So many lessons I had to unlearn…and still am. I feel like an ongoing lesson for a small business owner is when to let go and ask for outside help or even a collaboration. I can be stubbornly independent, so learning where to outsource has been important and continues to be. I have learned that I love collaborating. Working with others that “match’ or are like-minded and like-hearted has been a fun challenge.
What else should we know about how you took your side hustle and scaled it up into what it is today?
haha.. side hustle is such a fun word. When I finished classes on channeling the Akashic Records I never dreamed I would have a business doing it. I guess you can say I found my niche. I started trading with other students. Then people started asking me for sessions, and the kept coming back. I was teaching at my children’s school and doing these sessions evenings and weekends. I guess that was my moment…when my niche started to take the priority and desire in my life. So I took the leap. My type of business is unlike others. I can’t just walk up to someone and ask them if they want at reading or to work together. I have to honor the divine will of other- and not encroach my own. This can be tricky for “advertising’. Haha. I have pondered so many times…and laughed at…how do I advertise Divine Knowing? lol.. Word of mouth has been my best advertising agent so far.
