Bonita, appreciate you joining us today. What’s the backstory behind how you came up with the idea for your business?

The idea for my business came from my own wellness journey. During my breast cancer treatment, seamoss was recommended to me for its healing and nutritional benefits. I began supporting local vendors and using it regularly, but over time I became curious about the process and wanted to perfect my own recipe. What started as a personal effort to restore my health grew into a passion for sharing high-quality seamoss with others who want to feel their best naturally. In addition, I took my love for fitness more seriously and began teaching small group step aerobics and dance classes

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

My journey into the seamoss business began from a deeply personal place. During my breast cancer treatment, seamoss was recommended to me for its powerful healing and nutritional benefits. As I began using it regularly, I supported local vendors and became fascinated by its natural ability to help the body restore and rebalance. That curiosity led me to study, experiment, and eventually perfect my own seamoss blends — made with care, consistency, and quality you can taste and feel.

Today, I create and sell premium seamoss gels designed to support overall wellness — boosting energy, immunity, digestion, and more. What sets my business apart is not just the product itself, but the heart behind it. Every jar is made with intention, purity, and gratitude — a reflection of my journey from healing to helping others.

I’m most proud that what began as part of my recovery has become a source of nourishment and inspiration for others on their wellness paths. My goal is for every customer to know that this business isn’t just about selling seamoss — it’s about sharing a natural blessing that has truly changed my life.

Can you talk to us about manufacturing? How’d you figure it all out? We’d love to hear the story.

Everything is done by me, from the moment I buy my raw seamoss. I wanted to make sure proper steps were followed so when I got started I had to experiment in the kitchen. I was interested in different seamoss flavors because the number one complaint I hear is people do not like the taste of traditional seamoss. So I started blending with different fruits. Some worked while others didn’t. Since each jar is handmade, I’m intentional with ensuring quality, safety, and integrity

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?

I do honest business and I do not sell what I wouldn’t consume. In the beginning I was learning how fresh fruit pairs with seamoss and what that does to the shelf life. If you don’t plan on consuming right away, I don’t suggest you buy because the product will go to waste. Now that I have researched and created a stable shelf life, I am confident with selling. I even include a free sample to new clients.
