We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Bodega Nosh . We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Bodega below.
Alright, Bodega thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?
I was introduced to Fine Art at a young age such as Van Gough & Keith Haring and I grew up surrounded by creative individuals. This sparked an interest for me in Art and all things creative. As I got older I ventured in different avenues of creativity, but I didn’t start this journey professionaly until I lost my mother in 2018. Losing her made me realize how short life was and made me question whether or not I was actually living up to my fullest potential.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My name is Natasha, but I go by Bodega Nosh or Nosh whatever is clever. I was born in NY and raised in Philly. I resided in NJ for sometime and then moved to Atlanta for 10 years. After much thought I decided to move to LA and after a year I decided to move back to the city that birthed me. I started my journey with the arts as a dancer at the age of 7 or 8 and would continue my studies in dance until my senior year of high school. When I was 16 I started a career in modeling and this then turned into a love for fashion as well as design. During this time I had no idea what sustainable fashion was but I had been thrifting since I was a teenager and I quickly realized that I had a niche for styling clothes regardless of how much it cost or where it came from.
Fast forward to now at 32, I am what I would consider a Freelance Creative. I model, creative direct, style, and build sets for shoots. I’m also a content creator, social media inspirer, product developer, and producer. The list goes on truly and it doesn’t end here or there. My goal as a Freelance Creative is to provide unique services for creative clients or just clients who are in need of an artistic perspective.
My work sets me apart from others because from of my creative mindset and my ability to turn something out of nothing. I am extremely resourceful and passionate about others creativity as well. My goal is to always bring ideas to life and visions to reality.
I want my viewers, my followers, and maybe fans to know that I have no intentions to influence but to rather inspire. Inspire you to dream big and BE BIG.
You can strip a person of titles, clothes, or even freedom, but you can not take away someones natural born creativity.
That my friend is a gift.
Can you share your view on NFTs? (Note: this is for education/entertainment purposes only, readers should not construe this as advice)
I think NFT’s are amazing, but should we solely rely on this platform for Artist….ABSOLUTELY NOT. Call me old school but I want to hold my art in my hand. I want to smell it, feel it, emerge myself in it if I can.
Everything this day and age is on a screens, can be filtered, and more than likely requires a subscription. In some way I feel as if we are losing touch with reality and our senses.
Things like AI, NFT’s, and Virtual Reality is causing us to lose site of patience, time, self acceptance. We are able to create new lives life a sims character and we are unable to enjoy or appreciate the time it took to create an art piece.
Should we be evolving yes, but should we faze out the old completely no. It’s our history that has led us to these new successes and new accomplishments in Art as well as science.
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect in being an artist is being an artist. As cliche as it sounds that truly is the gift and blessing in it. Creativity as I explained is a gift, it’s not something that can be taught its something that is brought to life. Being an artist is universal and just like Art creativity is limitless.
