We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Bobby Hayden. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Bobby below.
Hi Bobby, thanks for joining us today. Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?
The music that I now write and record in Nashville consists of subject matter that provides hope to people battling addiction and provides hope for their recovery. I was living as a homeless addict in LA’s skid row for almost ten years. I know what it feels like to have no purpose and wonder around just to exist with no hope for change. The gifted musicians that contribute on my music do so because they to have a heart for the lost. My new project,” Addict IN The Basement ” produced by Mark Fain brings Light to a dark existence . Song’s like ” I Don’t Wanna Be Him” forecast change that can happen in one’s life. Our ministry , Cardboard Box Ministries travels the world to speak life to the broken. We provide this encouragement through our testimonies & music. One might say, once broken people help fix broke people.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
From 1998 to 2008 I was a homeless heroin addict for 10 years in LA’s skid row living in a cardboard box. I begged on street corners for money to support my addiction. I didn’t bath for a year at a time because the worse I looked the more money I made. I was near death and I was introduced to the Bible. One day while eating food in a dumpster I cried out to God for hope. The next day a man sent me to a rehab. His name was Mr Esperanza. ( Esperanza in Spanish means hope ). This got my attention and I started to pursue Jesus . My thinking changed . Here we are 18 years later , 100% clean with no triggers of any kind .I have been set free from drug addiction and now tell others how I overcame certain death.
Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
Our goal at Cardboard Box Ministries is to get this story of transformation to as many people as possible. Please Invite Bobby to tell his story at your next function. Bobby Hayden JR 931 374 5124 Cardboard Box Ministries 151 Country Club Drive , Hendersonville TN 37075
