We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Bob Walsmith Jr.. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Bob below.
Bob, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today To kick things off, we’d love to hear about things you or your brand do that diverge from the industry standard
I believe that I, and our team, understand that we are not salespeople, but we are in the relationship business and our job is to educate our clients about buying and selling their homes, which is the greatest asset that they will every own.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
I come from an engineering background, which means that people love working with me because I excel in being detail-oriented and process driven. I help the real estate process be smooth and hassle-free. I entered the real estate profession as a way to help people achieve the American Dream of homeownership. I learned to give back from my parents. I fully understand that my job is to provide education and guide clients through the sometimes complex nature of buying and selling their homes, not be a salesperson. It is important to provide more to our clients than just the basics and to be there for them throughout and after the process of buying and selling homes. I am so very proud that my clients think enough of the work that we have done for them that they write wonderful testimonials and typically end up being friends long after the initial sale. I am always learning more about my profession and always trying to be a better professional.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
I was awarded the 2020 Santa Barbara Association of Realtors (SBAOR) Howard Gates Award for the most difficult successful transaction of the year. From start to finish it took almost 2.5 years to help my client sell her house. The process involved multiple attornies and law enforcement agencies, intervention from the local court system, and my dealing with the buyers to help all parties eventually be satisfied and happy with the outcome.
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
The fact that I am known to be a consummate professional, has an impeccable reputation, have been on the local board of directors for our local association, and was the 2022 President of the Santa Barbara Association of Realtors (SBAOR).
