We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Blues Saraceno. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Blues below.
Blues, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Have you been able to earn a full-time living from your creative work? If so, can you walk us through your journey and how you made it happen? Was it like that from day one? If not, what were some of the major steps and milestones and do you think you could have sped up the process somehow knowing what you know now?
My career started at 15/16 years old when releasing my first solo instrumental album. From there touring playing with such artists as Jack Bruce and Ginger Baker (Cream) and bands such as Poison. while at the same time doing session work in los Angeles as well as album production. Ultimately culminating in a career of music production for Television and Film.

Blues, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
As in many creative business, My career consists of having to all facets of music production ( composing, arranging, performing, etc) as well as working with other creative talents all while meeting deadlines and delivering the absolute best product available.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
Being able to add something to society that brings joy to other people.
How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
As the music industry changed .. artists were forced to adapt in order to survive. When the recording medium went from digital to analog it provided certain opportunities that were were not there before such as being able to record and produce with the assistance of computer programs. Learning how to manipulate the new format in a creative way and adapting became a must. The days of only being a musician were gone and artists were forced to deal with the new production aspect . The down side was that the was an influx of product .. Not necessarily quality, but mass quantity.
At the same time the old model of having to need an actual record label was dying off .. Giving way to the age of social media. Gone were the days of needing a record label for distribution of your product
