We recently connected with Blossomin’ Bone and have shared our conversation below.
Blossomin’ , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Our first busk was more of a joke. We were waiting to meet our friends from Palmettos & Pines while busking for gas money to fund our 60 something mile trip back to Georgia.
When it comes to one of the most proud accomplishments, it would be a tie. It was signing our first full length before it was put into a jukebox of a one bar town of 200 residents near south east Kansas & winning first place in our division for the 2022 Eustis Busker Festival.
We hope the only thing that keeps folks tuned in would be the only thing we say to ourselves to keep us writing/singing/playing/busking/performing…
“If it ain’t fun — it ain’t for us!”
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
Sometime throughout our wild mosey in 2022, we had a pretty rough stint on a particular day. Roe vs Wade had been overturned early that morning, we were hurting for gas money leaving western North Carolina & both of our busking energies were shot due to being on the road & living off our music for more than a week!
With no direction, we stopped at every truckstop we could to try and busk. During one of the newer pieces we were working on (Take The Gold) a well known advocate for our style approached us with a friendly smile!
Anthony Simpkins is more known with the Gems on VHS YouTube channel, but he chose to say hi & even snapped a selfie with us before picking up a copy of our first full length! He posted the selfie on his story, tagging us up & even sharing one of the songs off the full length! Later that day we were followed by some random folks who only had a mutual with Anthony.
Although our day was rough in spirit, down in the dirt when it comes to energy, almost all wind out of our sails… This one interaction turned our entire days around and made our hearts full with gratification that we were together & not dead yet.
Do you think there is something that non-creatives might struggle to understand about your journey as a creative? Maybe you can shed some light?
It’s pretty cool that something that we made from our hearts has brought us connection with others — whether it be applied to relationships, closure, the feeling of nostalgia or even brightening someone’s day by showing our love for one another.
