We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Blanka Molnar a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Blanka, thanks for joining us today. Risking taking is a huge part of most people’s story but too often society overlooks those risks and only focuses on where you are today. Can you talk to us about a risk you’ve taken – it could be a big risk or a small one – but walk us through the backstory.
I have taken a couple “BIGger” risk in my life. But “BIG” is relative. Right?! The first risk – and one of my best decisions – in my life was when I first quit my corporate real estate job in Budapest and with two suitcases I moved to the other side of the world – more precisely to California – to be an au-pair. My family and friends had a variety of opinions about my move, but most of them thought I was crazy to leave my “stable” and calm life behind to change poopy diapers with an economics degree under my belt.
That experience changed my life forever. Living in California after growing up in an Eastern European country widened my horizon and opened my eyes for a new way of living. I embarked on a self-exploratory journey, and I never looked back. California was the perfect supporting and spiritual environment for it. I am forever thankful for that experience.
Another BIG risk I took was quitting my corporate job again to start my own professional organizing and personal development coaching business, Your Sorted Space.
I decided after 10+years working for other people’s dreams I start to chase mine.
So far I love that I took that leap of faith and started my own.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
Sure, I am Blanka, a professional development coach and professional organizer. My business is Your Sorted Space and I brought itto existence so I can help people decluttering their mental and physical space.
Our life is full of “noise” and clutter which distracts us from the important things. Due to too much “stuff” we lose our focus and the remote control over our life. We keep doing and doing more, getting, buying more, but we forget to enjoy our items and life. I guide people through an exciting journey from chaos and feeling overwhelmed to peace of mind and an organized space. I love the magic of organizing and the transformations it brings to my clients’ life.
I have worked with many amazing clients, but my favorite jobs were where clients needed a “reset” in their life. For example, when I worked on a lady’s home who urgently needed to move and did not have the capacity to go through her items in the apartment where she had been living for sixteen years. You can imagine how much was accumulated in the apartment. We got rid of 20+ bags of trash and donations and the lady was able to move on time. She started a clutter-free chapter of her life in a new apartment. You should see her relief as she let go of her items. As a heavy weight lifted off her shoulders. I love these moments.
Have you ever had to pivot?
My career path is not linear for sure. I had to – I decided to – pivot many times. Usually, I change/ have changed when I didn’t/ do not feel authentic in my job anymore. I started my career in corporate real estate where I was responsible for leasing shopping center units. After opening a bigger shopping center – which I found challenging in a good way – I did not see myself in real estate. It did not motivate me if a popular brand opened another shop or how much profit we created for an investor. That’s when I moved to California because I felt the urge to find my voice again. I believe our soul/inner voice talks to us and tells us when to move, but we are so good at not listening to it. Magic happens when you tune in and enjoy the silence.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
I have moved a couple times and have lived in different cities on different continents. Each city in my life, Budapest, San Francisco, London, and Houston
helped me to grow into the person I am today. Each city taught me about my resilience, but if I have to pick one example I would choose London and when I dislocated my kneecap. I felt lonely and miserable being on crutches in a city where I did not have my
family with me. In London I lived with roommates and paycheck to paycheck. I just changed jobs a couple days before the accident and my new job had zero health coverage. Two days after the accident in a knee brace and on crutches I was limping to the office located in one of the busiest parts of the city. It was NOT fun at all. I hit rock bottom after two weeks being mentally and physically exhausted. But that accident was one of my most amazing life lessons and taught me how to trust again and get help from directions I would never expect.
