Blake, appreciate you joining us today. Alright, so you had your idea and then what happened? Can you walk us through the story of how you went from just an idea to executing on the idea
After graduating from the graphic design program at West Virginia University in 2007, I knew I wanted to build something of my own, so I launched Stewart Design right after graduation. At first, I focused on print design and production because it felt like a natural way to start using my skills to help local businesses. I gained many of my first clients through word of mouth and personal connections.
As I worked with more companies, I discovered my real passion was deeper than creating visuals. I loved understanding each client’s business, uncovering what made them unique, and using design to help them stand out and grow. That discovery led me to shift Stewart Design’s focus from production to branding. I began studying brand strategy, refining my process, and developing services that guided clients through clear positioning and visual identity. Over time, this approach became the heart of Stewart Design and what still drives the company today.
What started as a solo effort grew into a specialized brand consultancy. The foundation was simple: start, listen, learn, adapt, and keep building toward work that creates real impact for clients.

I am Blake Stewart, the founder of Stewart Design, a brand consultancy based in Morgantown, West Virginia. My path began with a passion for design and entrepreneurship while studying graphic design at West Virginia University, where I graduated in 2007. Right after graduation, I started Stewart Design with the goal of helping businesses communicate who they are and stand out in competitive markets.
At Stewart Design, we provide a full range of branding services including brand strategy, logo design, visual identity systems, web design, and print production. Our work is about much more than creating attractive visuals. We help business leaders define their positioning, clarify their message, and build a clear, professional presence that connects with the right audience and supports growth.

Along with that, I have always been committed to working hard and delivering at a high standard. I take pride in being dependable and pushing every project to be its best. Over the years, this combination of energy, personal attention, and consistent effort has helped Stewart Design earn a strong reputation and a steady flow of new clients through both word of mouth and repeat business.


What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
The best source of new clients for Stewart Design has always been referrals from past clients.
