We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Blake Koala. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Blake below.
Alright, Blake thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. How did you learn to do what you do? Knowing what you know now, what could you have done to speed up your learning process? What skills do you think were most essential? What obstacles stood in the way of learning more?
A lot of trial and error. A lot of people are scared just to post something because it’s not perfect in their mind but sometimes the most perfect thing ends up doing the worst in the most spontaneous does the best. Being your true genuine self is the best form of content. Biggest obstacle I face is part of my learning disability. I’m dyslexic, so a lot of the times videos that I do I have to proofread and make sure I’m pronouncing certain words correctly most of the time which takes a lot longer to make an edit videos. On the other side, my skills in videography from growing up has really helped me stand out more than others. When it comes to my videos, I pride myself in the quality and dedication. I put in each video a video I tend to edit usually takes up to three hours to finish. And that just a 30 sec video.
Blake , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I’ve been doing content creating for close to eight years now, and I could never really find my niche. I went from fitness influencer to twitch streamer to lo and behold, anime, content creator. I would’ve never guessed in 1 million years thats what I got famous for.
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
I believe that even though some recognize that anime is a children’s cartoon that it is much more than that and Anime can be for anyone young or old. I try to bring acknowledgment that Anime in a lot of regards is deep and driven when it comes to story telling that sometimes the US wished they could tell.
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect to being a creator is to give people a place to learn, laugh and feel accepted in a community that when I was growing up was not always the most popular that it is today. Meeting the fans and them telling me how much my content means to them.
