We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Bläk Walters a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Bläk, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
At the heart of my photography business is a simple but powerful mission: to serve others with kindness and give every single couple my absolute all. For me, photographing weddings is about so much more than capturing beautiful images—it’s about creating a space where my couples feel at ease, fully present, and genuinely celebrated. I pour everything I have into each wedding day, not just because I love photography, but because I truly care about the people in front of my lens.
There’s something incredibly meaningful to me about showing up for others in a way that reminds them they’re seen, supported, and deeply valued. Whether that looks like fluffing out a veil, calming nerves before a first look, or quietly capturing those fleeting, joy-filled moments that happen in between the big ones—it’s all part of how I get to serve.
This heart for service goes far beyond wedding days. Photography has become a way for me to give back to my community—whether I’m volunteering at church through our children’s ministry program or partnering with organizations like New Hope for Kids to create lasting memories for families walking through incredibly difficult seasons. I believe that this gift I’ve been given isn’t just for me—it’s meant to be shared.
My mission is to love others well through my work & give them lasting memories to cherish for a lifetime. If a couple walks away feeling truly cared for, fully seen, and filled with joy when they relive their day through their photos, then I’ve done what I set out to do. That’s the heart behind everything.

Bläk, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Hi there! I’m Bläk, a wedding photographer based in Orlando, Florida. I’ve been photographing weddings since 2020, and what started as a love for storytelling quickly turned into the most fulfilling career I could’ve asked for.
I photograph weddings with a true-to-color, timeless style that allows emotions and genuine connection to shine. I don’t just want to give you beautiful photos—I want you to feel completely at ease in front of the camera, deeply cared for throughout the experience, and filled with joy every time you look back at your images. I believe that photography is just as much about how someone feels as it is about what they see.
That’s why I’m committed to serving my couples with kindness, intentionality, and my whole heart from beginning to end. I’m often found pinning veils, fluffing dresses, helping organize family photos, or simply being a calm, reassuring presence on a day that can feel overwhelming. I step in wherever I can because I care so deeply about the people I serve.
What sets my brand apart is how intentional and personal the experience is. My clients often say they feel completely at ease with me, like they’re being photographed by a close friend who truly sees them. They’ve shared that I bring a calming presence to their day, anticipate needs before they arise, and help everything flow so smoothly. Beyond the timeless, true-to-color images, what they remember most is how cared for and celebrated they felt—not just as clients, but as people.
I’m most proud of the relationships I’ve built through this business. I’ve laughed, cried, and celebrated alongside so many beautiful souls—and it’s a complete honor to be trusted with their memories. If there’s one thing I want potential clients or future friends to know, it’s this: I’m all in. I care about you, your people, and your story—and I’ll show up with everything I’ve got to make sure you feel that from beginning to end.

Any resources you can share with us that might be helpful to other creatives?
One of the most valuable resources I’ve found in my creative journey—and one I definitely wish I had discovered sooner—is having a business coach and mentor who genuinely cares about my success. Working with someone who not only understood the business side of things but also took time to invest in me as a person made such a difference.
What made it even more powerful was finding someone who truly embodied everything I believe in when it comes to running a business—with kindness, heart, and a deep care for the people you serve. They led with love, and that resonated with me in such a big way. It’s been such a blessing to have them as my mentor—and now as friends.
They helped me dig deep—not just into the structure of my business, but also into my mindset, my confidence, and the way I show up in this work. The growth I experienced during that season was incredible. I doubled my income, but more importantly, I began to see myself differently. I started believing in the potential of this business and in my ability to truly make it happen.
There’s still a lot I’m working toward, but having someone in my corner who could offer outside perspective, hold me accountable, and speak truth into the areas I struggled with was a game changer. It helped me gain the clarity, confidence, and motivation I needed to keep going—and to do it with purpose.
If you’re a creative business owner, I can’t recommend it enough. Having a mentor who believes in you and shares your values can be one of the most impactful things you do for your business—and for yourself.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
One of the biggest ways I’ve built my reputation within my market has been by truly showing up—with intention, kindness, and a heart for serving everyone involved. I believe that wedding days are a team effort. Yes, my couple is always my priority, but I also see the beauty in what happens when vendors work together with a shared goal: creating a calm, joyful, and memorable experience for the people we’re all there to serve.
I’m intentional about the way I show up not just for my clients, but for their vendor team too. I make an effort to capture and highlight the beautiful work each vendor brings to the day and to follow up afterward with full galleries they can use in their own businesses. It’s a small gesture that goes a long way in building relationships—and it’s something I genuinely love doing.
I think what’s helped me connect most within this industry is staying rooted in who I am—joyful, kind, and genuinely invested in the people around me. I bring that energy to every wedding day and every collaboration. My hope is always that my clients feel completely cared for, and that each vendor involved feels appreciated and seen for the part they played in bringing the day to life.
