We recently connected with Blaire Simone and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Blaire, thanks for joining us today. We love asking folks what they would do differently if they were starting today – how they would speed up the process, etc. We’d love to hear how you would set everything up if you were to start from step 1 today
Now that I’ve been in business for 6 years, I have definitely learned a lot and gone through a lot of trials. I am very grateful for my growth and expansion in business. Over the years my clientele has drastically changed and I think the one thing I would change is accepting so many people at once. What I do for my clients takes time and I love for our encounters to be personal and all about the,. Setting the bar high when they interact with “The Resume Plug” I learned to be more organized in my process as well, my demand became so high that I was all over the place lol. I have more structure now and I’m thankful for that. I am only getting bigger and better and as I always say #TrustTheProcess

Blaire, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
So I provide career services for my clients. When I first started I was homeless with NOTHING, barely even a phone. I would always be able to get a great job but had no way to get there so I started writing resumes because I could always land a great job. I started selling my resume for $15. Over the years I started offering more creative services, My services are now $550 and growing. I assist with their assessments, applications even interviews. I know a lot of people are already working a job and don’t have the required time to find that perfect career. Job seeking is demanding, so I take that time and stress off of them and do everything for them and they just go to work.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
What I do for so many people can sometimes become very stressful and overwhelming. I definitely have had my moments where I wanted to just walk away and call it quits. I’ve cried many days and nights because I just couldn’t keep up or it was just too much mentally. I had a client that I truly adored and she is truly my inspiration, her name is Armoni, I won’t disclose her real name but that’s my Armoni. I announced that I was going to retire on Facebook and that I would no longer be in business, and I meant it, I was just ready to walk away. Armoni sent me the longest sweetest message and I still read it to this day when i, am feeling discouraged. About 2 weeks later after I decided I will keep pushing due to Armoni inspiring me, she passed away and my whole existence woke up like this girl was my angel. She is truly the reason I am still in business. I cried so hard because God sent that girl to be a message to me. And on top of that, I had just got her hired on at a new job that she never got to make it to, so I put my all into everything I do BECAUSE OF HER

What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
Word of mouth definitely carries me. I have people everywhere contacting me. But I have truly mastered social media. I can wake up in the morning and have 20 unread messages. I do want to do more videos on TikTok and spread job searching tips but becoming a TikToker is another job in itself lol
