We recently connected with Blaine Bunting and have shared our conversation below.
Blaine, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Learning the craft is often a unique journey from every creative – we’d love to hear about your journey and if knowing what you know now, you would have done anything differently to speed up the learning process.
I grew up around music and musicians. My father, grandfather, and uncles would always perform for people, and I always thought it was an awesome skill. To be able to captivate people, and put smiles on their faces always intrigued me. So that’s how I came into this.
I would say the one thing that was the toughest about learning to play music, is having patience. Realizing that it doesn’t come instantly and you have to work at it and spend time with it.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My name is Blaine Bunting, and I’m a singer/songwriter. I’ve been living in Nashville for 6 years, writing songs and performing shows. Music has taken me to a lot of places across the United States. It has also introduced me to a lot of interesting and amazing people.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
I believe the most rewarding thing about being an artist, is relating to people. When I write, record and put out a song, and people really enjoy it and can relate to it, that makes it all worth while.
What can society do to ensure an environment that’s helpful to artists and creatives?
I think one thing that everyone doesn’t always think of, is that as artists, we put a lot of time and effort into our trade. It didn’t come over night, we really had to work at it and put time into it. We also are constantly trying to improve and stay relevant. So when an artist puts out a product, it means a lot more to them then you may realize.
