We were lucky to catch up with Bjorn Bengtsson recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Bjorn, thanks for joining us today. Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?

The most meaningful project I’ve worked on and I am still working within is the project of sharing God’s love through art. In my early days I felt creative and free, self reliant, and inspired to express the truths I felt within myself in art. I felt the love of God almighty within me, Who saved me from separation, bringing me into the sacred embrace of Love. I laid under a tree on the coast, praying for God to come to me, that I’d feel loved and be love. Just then a leaf landed on my heart and with it the full heartbeat of the Creator. My life belonged to Love itself. A few years later I sat beneath a tree in my backyard, the wind blew through the leaves and through my hair all the same, I leaned my head to the tree. I heard the Spirit of God in me tell me to paint, to express the love of God for people to experience in art. My God said to me I am always with you, I will always be with you. Live. To this day I make art with my Friend, Savior, Beloved Lord God Almighty. Inviting our one body of Love to join in the praise of Him, to live, to believe in art, to believe in Him, to believe in Love.

Bjorn, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

I am an artist. I am who i am in God. Nothing can separate me from the Love of the Father. I make art in praise, in prayer, in union with God. I am a painter, a writer, a draftsman, a musician, a sculptor, a ceramicist, a photographer, a videographer, a gardener. In all my art, all my life, I seek to be in the flow of Love. I am proud of God and what God does. God does art. I open my heart and my hands to let the Love flow. My paintings are the clearest expressions of this Love. I want people to see my paintings, to feel they are not alone, to feel the beauty of God, to feel connected, to be free, to know the personal colorful love of God in us together as one.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?

I feel special, like i have the calling from God in art to share the personal love of God with people, i know God’s called me to do this, that is why i do it. I Love God and i Love one another with the Love God gives within me. I express this same Love in the art, hoping and trusting the art will connect people in God’s love.

Are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?

You can be fearless, inspired, true, free, connected. You can be love. You can be loved. Nobody can separate us from the Love of the Father. As an artist you can freely give yourself in expressions of your deepest true feelings. You are not alone. If you have family, a partner, friends, then turn to them, live with them, serve them and love them well, it will make your art more wonderful. Let no fear, no evil, no separation hold you back. Come fully alive, trust, be a witness to this love and see what our God will do through you.
