Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Bill Philipps. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Bill, thanks for joining us today. Let’s jump to the end – what do you want to be remembered for?
What a great question. I honestly, hope that in the end what people take away from having known me professionally is that we all have our own personal power to connect to Spirit on some level. I want people to know that when we remain open to the other side, we can continue our relationships with the ones we love from here. I would hope that people looking back on what I’ve done in this life, will understand the power that they have to transform their own lives and the lives of those around them if they navigate the world from a place of love and kindness. This is always our choice. And I hope that people will remember me as someone with integrity, who did their best to serve others.

Bill, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I’m a psychic medium/author/spiritual teacher. I have a loyal clientele that spans the globe. I offer private readings for people one-on-one, or in a group setting. I travel the country offering these group readings, as well offering them virtually. I also offer workshops for those who are interested in developing their own intuitive side, or psychic senses. I’ve written two books about my life, one on how I discovered my gift, and the other on how people can recognize the signs for themselves that their loved ones are still with them in spirit. I discovered I had this gift to connect with the other side when I was relatively young. When I was 14 years old my mom passed away unexpectedly. We were living on opposites coasts at the time. I went to see here while she was in the hospital. I barely made it on time to see her one last time before she died. A few days later she appeared to me one night while I was lying in bed, fully awake. She was very angelic looking. I received the message from her that she was OK, better than OK, she was healed from all her suffering, and that she was going to help me to help others. It took me several more years to accept this side of me, that I had this gift of connection with the spirit world. While I was finishing my degree at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music I started to give readings to people I knew. From there, word of mouth spread about me, and this became a full time calling for me. People come to see me for a multitude of reasons. Most people who come to see me want to hear from a loved one who has crossed over, others are looking for guidance on relationships, or some people need answers on how to proceed professionally with a project or career goals. People have many reasons to seek me out as a psychic medium. I’ve gotten feedback over the years that people like their sessions with me because the feel a genuine connection with the other side through me. People know I come from a place of integrity, and they feel safe with me, that they can really be themselves and let their hair down in my presence. People will often come to see me, and then book another session with me right after that. When they come back, they will often talk about how once they left, the validations continued to come after the reading, and they get really excited to share them with me. This is what inspired me to write my first book, which explains how the process of a reading works, with testimonials from clients.

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
I think like most people, when the COVID-19 pandemic hit the world, I knew we were headed into a big change, and navigating this new more socially distanced world was inevitable. What’s interesting is that in 2019 I switched my platform from Skype to Zoom for my virtual video appointments. I’d always offered this virtual option, but something within me nudged me to make this change so I could offer virtual groups for people in different locations at once, which Skype did not offer at the time. I wanted to be able to offer my small intimate group readings virtually. They’d always been successful in-person and I needed the right platform to do this virtually. So, I signed up for a Zoom account in the early months of 2019. That summer I put my first Zoom group reading on, and it sold out right away. So, because of this, I was prepared to move my groups virtually in 2020. I decided if I couldn’t travel to people— nobody was really traveling anywhere as it was during the lockdown days of the pandemic—so I filled my schedule with these virtual group readings, and they’ve always had a successful turn out. They sell out very quickly. I think people really like these virtual group readings with me because it makes it easy for them to attend, from the comfort of their own space. And I haven’t travelled to other countries for my group readings yet, so this brings me an international clientele that I normally would not have had in a group reading setting.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
I started out my social media platform, with a simple intention, to bring daily inspiration to people. Throughout each day I try post at least a few times a day, either an original inspiring/positive quote about life or the other side, or words of wisdom from someone that inspires me. I’ve built my platform up from there, and now have over 200K followers on Facebook. People often give me feedback that my posts are exactly what they needed to hear in that moment. So, for me personally, it’s really rewarding to be able to connect with my following in this way. My advice for those starting out with a social media platform would be to always have integrity in what you do, and what you say. Your word is everything for your personal and professional reputation, so stay genuine and authentic. Always have the intention to do good in this world, no matter what your product or service. Use the platform for positive change.
