We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Bill Domenz. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Bill below.
Bill , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Almost every entrepreneur we know has considered donating a portion of their sales to an organization or cause – how did you make the decision of whether to donate? We’d love to hear the backstory if you’re open to sharing the details.
We donate with every bottle sold. Corspice also does a big push in November for Veterans Day where we host a fundraiser and sell a hot sauce we creates specifically for this purpose. On this bottle we give $4 back from each bottle sold.
Bill , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Militant About the Curating & Crafting Flavorful Spice Combos
Behind every great meal are great spices, and great spice formulators. We are CorSpice founders Bill, and Amber . . .
with a 100+ year combo platter of taste-testing talent, and this crazy dream to make products that benefit our military families!
Our flavorful spice profiles range from subtle to opinionated. . . from Scoville scale mild to “God help me! Where’s the lidocaine for my ring o’ fire?!?” But we digress.
Bill is the spice master with a legacy for creating insanely dee-lish flavors, Bill is the Marine who found his talent for cooking while stationed in South Korea. This was where he discovered that combining certain MREs made a chili that tasted like back home. It was the tipping point. From then on, people have never stopped coming back for seconds and thirds of whatever Bill happens to be concocting in his well-stocked kitchen. We created our blends to be as healthy as possible. With that said we are gluten free, no MSG no Sugar or preservatives and low sodium
The rest is history.
Amber , a.k.a. Creative Director and the Voice of Reason. If you need to source a vanilla bean from Madagascar, Amber will find it in a minute, while she’s also unraveling the knot from her daughter’s necklace with a pin, answering a journalist’s query, art directing the packaging designer, and riding shotgun to their son’s next lacrosse match 150 miles away. Amber is the roux that holds this successful business recipe together.
We love being able to call the shots together. One thing we feel strongly on is giving back to veterans.
Corspice gives back with every bottle sold to active military, veterans and first responders.
The main organization we give to is K9’s for veterans NFP.
Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
Finding your place and your demographic sometimes takes a bit of time, along with trial and error. We assumed that everyone is our audience at first until we started branching out to different towns and marketing online. Being a veteran owned company we have come to realize that our country is divided and it spills over to some businesses. we never thought in a million years this would come into play but unfortunately it does. with that we realized who our demographic was and is pretty fast.
We find that if you can narrow this down in the first 6 months you are on a roll.
Our best source of clients are 35-65 usually with military affiliation. markets are usually our best way to drum up new clients there is nothing like being right in front of your customers face to face.
How did you build your audience on social media?
Social media is a rough road. its a full time job in its self. one thing I know works is consistency. Every time you post keep the same pieces in the same place. Think about Dunkin or McDonald’s
they have stayed consistent with advertising and their product for ages, what has this done? customers always know what they are going to get and what to expect. BRAND RECOGNITION is the key. Now when we meet our customers or new customers they tell us they have seen our ads or there friend has our products and they recognized them.
