We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Bill Betts and Barry Estelhomme. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Bill and Barry below.
Bill and Barry, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What’s been one of the most interesting investments you’ve made – and did you win or lose? (Note, these responses are only intended as entertainment and shouldn’t be construed as investment advice)
We would say the best investment thus far would be purchasing hd webcams and better microphones. The upgraded technology provides for a better picture and sound experience for viewers. Upon our first Youtube video, we noticed how grainy the footage displayed. After purchasing the hd webcams and microphones, the video and sound quality vastly improved.
Bill and Barry, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
And In This Corner… is a podcast and YouTube channel that was founded during the COVID quarantine. We decided to discuss different topics such as top 10 biopics, top 10 movie soundtrack songs, the Teddy Riley and Babyface Verzuz, and other like content. After a few months, we included interviewing singers and producers from the golden era of R&B. The interview series, “Unanimous Decision”, gives a voice to R&B legends who came from an era where there was no social media. The interviews allow fans to be a fly on the wall and inform us of behind-the-scenes events that took place during their careers. Also, we are most proud of deliverving content in an unique fashion based around a “boxing” theme. We maintain the integrity of our channel while staying away from gossip column techniques.
What do you find most rewarding about being creative?
Barry: Being able to connect with other artists and creatives is the most rewarding aspect of being an artist or creative. And In This Corner… has been able to interview producers and artists that have touched millions with their gift. We get to share a stage with R&B legends to discuss how art changes, yet remains the same throughout the years.
Bill: Being able to interact with the audience and have their support is most rewarding. Members of the audience have shared how much they look forward to the content. For someone who cringes at public speaking, I am comfortable in front of the camera.
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
We would like to become the primary destination for press runs for vintage artists. Also, we would like to become the industry leader for Verzuz previews/recaps and award shows.
