We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Bilal Khan a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Bilal , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Do you think your parents have had a meaningful impact on you and your journey?
My parents raised me so well that any mistakes I’ve made in life are entirely my own. They taught me right from wrong and instilled in me the values that continue to guide me. I was raised in an environment filled with pure joy and love, and because of that, I have nothing but love and joy to give in return. My parents’ love was—and still is—unconditional.
My mom was the epitome of what it means to be a mother, and I lost her on November 19, 2022. That day changed my life forever. But through everything, my parents taught me to always do the right thing, even when no one is watching, because God is always watching—and now, so is my mom.
After losing my mom, I endured a terrible accident where I nearly lost my life. But God and my mom saved me, giving me the strength to rise up and live a better life than I had before. Now, I am fully embracing my purpose as a healer, continuing my mom’s legacy with every step I take.
Bilal , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My full name is Bilal Zafar Khan, and I am one of the owners of Journey Within Wellness Center. My purpose is to heal anyone I can—emotionally, mentally, physically, and spiritually—through the various services we offer at Journey. As an entrepreneur, I am living my best life, chasing my dreams, and the only person who can stop me is me. I know God has incredible things in store for me, and I’m ready to embrace them.
My energy is my gift, and the heart my parents gave me is rich—no amount of money could ever replace it. Two years ago, I lost my mom, and just a year later, I almost lost myself in an accident. But God and my mother saved me to continue my healing journey, though on a much larger scale. Now, I am fully living in my purpose, helping others heal emotionally, mentally, physically, and spiritually at Journey Within Wellness Center.
I consider myself to be God’s vessel. He uses me in ways I don’t always understand until it’s done, but I trust His plan completely. I’m simply following the script He has written for me—nothing more, nothing less. I’ve embraced life fully, and I don’t let anything disturb my energy. Even in the worst situations, I make the best of it.
Who am I? I am the person who will stop to help you pick up the pieces, put them back together, make you smile, and leave you with good energy. That’s who God chose me to be—for the people, and I will always be here for the people.
I’m dedicated to building unity within our communities because humanity matters. We all matter. We are all God’s children, and my purpose today is more important than ever. Before my mom passed, I promised her I would heal everyone I could before it’s my time to join her in heaven.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
I lost my mom on November 19, 2022, and I fell into a deep depression. Then, just a year later, on November 24, I crashed my car. When I woke up in the hospital, I couldn’t feel my legs. I had braces on both legs, a neck brace, and I had broken four ribs and punctured the right side of my lung. They had to insert a tube to help me breathe.
While in the hospital, I cried every day from the pain—both physical and emotional. I was mentally drained, and I felt completely overwhelmed. But my family and friends showed up for me, offering love and support that helped me stay focused on healing.
The doctors told me I wouldn’t be able to walk for a year and a half, but in my heart, body, and soul, I knew that wasn’t my truth. I wanted to prove them wrong so badly, and I felt that God had a different timeline for me. With the unwavering support of my tribe and my own willpower, I got up and started moving in just four months. I had shattered my knee, torn my ACL, and ruptured all the ligaments, even breaking my kneecap. They had to perform two surgeries, but I refused to let that define me.
When I went home on December 4th, the pain was excruciating, especially without the medications I’d been given in the hospital. But every day, I worked hard to keep moving forward. I didn’t know how to stay still—I just knew I had to keep going. My faith and my support team had my back, and with the help of physical therapy, massages, and Thai stretching from my team at Journey, I was able to rise above the challenge.
Today, I am beyond blessed to be alive and share my story. It’s a real testament to the power of never giving up on what you want and who you want to be. God has given us everything we need to achieve our dreams, but the choice is ours.
If you could go back in time, do you think you would have chosen a different profession or specialty?
If I could go back, I would absolutely choose the same profession. Every experience, both the triumphs and challenges, has shaped me into who I am today and guided me to my true purpose. The path I’ve taken in the wellness and healing space has not only allowed me to grow but has also given me the chance to help others heal emotionally, mentally, physically, and spiritually—something I wholeheartedly believe is my calling.
Even through the struggles, each lesson has been invaluable. I wouldn’t change a thing because every experience has contributed to the journey that’s led me to fully embrace my purpose. God’s plan for me has unfolded perfectly, and I’m grateful for every step along the way. If I had the opportunity to do it all over again, I wouldn’t hesitate to choose this path once more.
