We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Big Speaker a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Big, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.
I was a child maybe 11 12 and I always loved music so I started tryna rap and be like my big cousin Robbo who started showing me the ropes at a young age his self but threw time I stuck with it maybe 17 18 I started practicing more tryna get it right but it wasn’t untill I was about 23 that I acutely said u kno wat this is my life it’s all or nothing and music just means so much to me and my life so that’s about it
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
So my name is Big Speaker but my family and close friends they call me rell I always been driven and had high motivation for anything I set out to do I never give up I take risk cause some times u have to in order to get the best results take risk and prosper I’m from cherry hill projects south Baltimore the home of the bricks so u kno u gotta get it how u can coming up also u have to be able to discipline yaself and stay focus wen it comes to business sometimes one slip and that’s it u can lose it all so STAY FOCUSED AND KEEP GOING and the thing I’m most proud of myself about is that I’m better mind wise and more mature I’m not that same Lor kid on the block nomore I’m grown and I see the blessing God laying out I just gotta go get it
Is there a mission driving your creative journey?
My particular goal on my journey is to be the best by that I mean to be the best man and father I can be and to make something better for my 3 sons my family and to assure that my kids won’t have to go threw or do the things I did cause I did enough for them to Never have to I just wanna grind and give better opportunities to myself and the ones I love and most importantly to forever keep my brovas names alive…….In The Name Of M
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
Well you know it all comes down to staying consistent with ya craft whatever ya line of work maybe u have to constantly give ‘em something to see network push what you got in their faces to make them see you and hear you cause a lot of people won’t they wanna see that work ethic that drive that ambition you know that killer instinct if u will but most of all STAY CONSISTENT
