We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Big JLD . We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Big below.
Big, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?
My most meaningful project? That’s a good question honestly I have multiple but bill say my current project I put ou there will be “welcome home” it has some layers from my life and past. It’s a reflection of dealing with my moms death and over the years of trying to handle it as find things to help me cope with the lost. It was was really tough especially losing her when I was just 16 and my sister on being 13 so this project got some raw emotions that I bottled up and let out making this project.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Hi my name is Jonah and I go by Big JLD I’m an upcoming music artist and content creator. I got into the music and video industry really just being being curious and wanting more for myself honestly. I looked at my life and told my self I know I’m destined for more. So I went and put my self out there and really started doing research and teaching my self how to record edit videos learn how to master my music craft and etc. Definitely working on getting my brand out there for sure but all in all it’s been a fun journey
How can we best help foster a strong, supportive environment for artists and creatives?
One thing people forget to do, is support the smaller artists. People are so quick to follow the artists that are already popular and mainstream, that the talented artists that aren’t as well known are left in the dust. Some of those artists speak on the realist issues, like mental health, real world situations, etc. Everyone deserves a chance, and one share, like or comment can change someone’s world.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
I know it is cliche to say you want a better lifestyle, but that’s all I want. I know the feeling of growing up poor, and I know what it’s like to get tired of being in the same rut you can’t seem to get out of. I made a promise to someone I cared for and I aim to keep that promise no matter how long it takes.
