We recently connected with Big Chaser and have shared our conversation below.
Big, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today How did you come up with the idea for your business?
Keep Chasing!! It’s not only a brand it’s a lifestyle. Its started when I was playing basketball for Mississippi Valley State University in my junior year in college. For some odd reason, I found myself sitting on the bench more than I should have been. Every day, being super dedicated to the gym, I had to tell myself something to stay motivated. Keep Chasing was born as just a hashtag/motto for me to say heading into the gym and once I left. It grew to a household name very very fast.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I alway lead with telling people I’m from Philly. 58th & Norfolk St West Philly to be exact. Born with drugs in my system(yes, I was a crack baby), I’ve been dealing with adversity since I stepped on the scene. But, that’s another story for another day. I’ve ALWAYS been into fashion and making money(I mean, who doesn’t like making money). Shockingly, I never wanted to be a clothing designer. It kinda found me if I do say. Having my own brand, Keep Chasing, is very big to me because no one in my family is operating how I operate. Defied the odds. Business is great. It all starts with discipline. I pride myself on my focus and discipline amongst other things. I feel its the utmost vital piece of progression–discipline. In order to reach your max potential, you have no choice but to be and remain discipline. My brand offers something I’ve coined as “Ath-Leisure Fashion.” You can get a sweatsuit for your comfort while traveling or you can get a nice pair of handmade jeans for a night on the town Nonetheless, we make clothes for comfort. If a customer reaches out and needs an outfit for a date, we can get them right almost instantly. I feel my work ethic and my attention to every single small detail is what separates me from competitors. I work my a** off; relentlessly!I’m extremely proud of the growth we’ve seen within these last few years. We went from a simple saying to a million dollar company.
Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
My whole life, I’ve been a really good basketball player. I had a pretty successful career. Up until my last year player internationally(France). Everything that could’ve went wrong, went wrong. I had a high ankle sprain in our very first preseason game which caused me to miss all of preseason as well as the first 3 games of our season. Money got messed up due to the team not being able to(for whatever reason) secure my visa. Keep in mind, that something that should be handled prior to or as soon as I arrive. Then, the holiday break hit and I was fed up and wanted to leave. When I made it home, it was December 13, 2019. I landed in Memphis, TN without a coin to my name. I had 3 children at the time and HAD TO figure it out ON THE FLY!!! Let’s just say I figured it out and then boom, we’re in a global pandemic. Out of nowhere my online store went crazy and I was able to relocate my family out of a small town in Mississippi to a better location. That’s what I call major pivoting. Had to sacrifice 1 dream to lock in on something totally different. Hustlers are gonna hustle, though!

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
Constant posting. I call it “putting it in their face!” Literally simple as that. To all entrepreneurs, be relentless in your pursuit of greatness. Be obsessed with your brand and grow it every single day.
