We recently connected with Bianca Rochell and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Bianca, thanks for joining us today. Do you think your parents have had a meaningful impact on you and your journey?
Yes, they’ve had a huge impact on my journey. My parents did a lot right. A few of the most important things they did right are: loving me endlessly and pouring into my spirit the mindset that I can do anything I put my mind to.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My journey to Yoga Therapy began in 2017 when I was sick and tired of letting my body get out of hand. Not being able to fit in my clothes became too much! So I made a plan to connect with a practice that made the most sense for my overall focus spiritually, mentally, and physically. My life changed immediately when I began practicing, from my focus to eating habits to losing 87 lbs over the course of 9 months. Once I experienced the power of transition in my life, I wanted to help others. My brand, Yoga by Bianca, quickly took off once I got certified and began teaching full-time. While I do take my brand very seriously, this journey is not about my brand. This journey is about helping as many people as I can. It has helped me to expand people’s thinking by helping them to see how small changes can make big differences. It is an honor to serve in this space of healing. There are so many traumas that we need to work through and Yoga Therapy and its practices are life changing!
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
Sheesh! A story of resilience…The 2020 Shutdown was a huge unexpected turn for us all. None of us intended to be out of work for so long. Furthermore, many of us felt underappreciated, not needed, and were forced out of our regular lives to deal with this agenda-based pandemic. There were so many things going on. I had the yoga clothes I just began creating, my yoga mats, several brand ambassador opportunities, and a festival scheduled for May 2020 that never got to happen due to the shutdown. I was devastated that everything I was building got snatched away from me, but I didn’t stop. No matter how pissed off and distraught I was, I had to keep moving. I started focusing more on my private client base and building it. Then, one day around May 2020, I started feeling very inspired to create more. So, I downloaded a music production app and started making music to meditate, workout, and dance to. It was about shifting gears, reinvention, and adding an element of sound therapy to my practice. Now, I have about 22 songs I produced and released to encourage people to meditate, to move, to dance, and to uplift their spirits. Each song is available on all streaming platforms under GoodEnergyBee. Sometimes you might fall hard and feel like you’ve lost everything, but tapping into your purpose will always guide you through whatever life throws at you.
Do you think you’d choose a different profession or specialty if you were starting now?
No, I’d choose yoga over and over again. I often wish I would’ve known about yoga at an early age because of how much more focused and patient I feel I would’ve been. I love yoga so much because of the most important piece, meditation. It’s what should always be focused on in yoga because that’s how yoga began and it’s what drives everything else, your decisions, what you consume, who you surround yourself with, who you allow into your intimate space, how dedicated you are, your peace, your movement, how you breathe, your alignment, how you relieve tension, and so many other benefits. I would choose Yoga Therapy again without a doubt.
