We recently connected with Bhavini Bhargava and have shared our conversation below.
Bhavini , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Do you think your parents have had a meaningful impact on you and your journey?
My parents are both doctors and I am actively playing cricket and have written a book Unheard, which has become international best seller. The best thing my parents did, was to let me pursue my dreams and never let the urge to force their wishes on myself. In India, it is common that a doctor’s son or daughter would pursue the same carrier, but they let me set my own goals and follow them.

Bhavini , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I, Bhavini Bhargava, started playing badminton at the age of seven years and represented nationals in India for five consecutive years. Unfortunately, due to stress fractures in the right foot, I had to leave Badminton and pick Cricket, which I am following till today and playing at national level in both India and Australia. I write poetry and have an international seller book by the name of Unheard . Also, I have just completed my under graduation in sports management from Deakin University.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
Life has its ups and downs, and it happened with me also. When I was at peak, playing badminton, I had stress fractures in right foot at that time.Poetry was like an escape and solace for me. As playing badminton was impossible for me, I searched and came up with a game where if you bat right handedly, there is very little pressure on the right leg. This is how Cricket came into my life. Within two years, I was playing for my state of Rajasthan. Covid came and everything stopped, but I wanted to pursue my dreams. I learnt that Melbourne is Mecca of Cricket. So I picked up my bag and rolled myself in a course related to Sports in Deakin University and went to an unknown country, when the first flight after Covid was started.. I kept on writing poems and my book was published in 2023 and became Amazon international best seller. This is the story of my resilience.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect being creative or artist is that I can share my feelings with the world and find like minded people who have also gone through a similar phase as me and connect with me. Unheard resonates my journey and feelings and it being best seller means that People are connecting with My feelings and journey. Also, I feel that being creative, I was able to change and have a positive impact on other peoples life. Some of the people, after reading my poems, messaged to me that they have found strength to come out of depressive thoughts and have found new energy to fight hardships that life gives.
