We recently connected with Beverly Diane and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Beverly, thanks for joining us today. Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?
Although every wedding I plan becomes extremely personal to me, the most recent meaningful project was finally planning my own. After almost a decade of planning, designing, organizing, and executing dozens upon dozens of others, it was finally time to create my very own “happily ever after”. Both my husband and I are in the event industry so it was super special to finally work on ours together. Some may say we have been a reality tv show, but I know better! We are my favorite movie and I got the fairytale.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
I have been planning parties and organizing events as early as elementary school, so it was only natural that I am finally following my dream and turning my beloved hobby (and innate ability) into a career. The passion I have for creating such milestone moments and my dedication to developing relationships with my clients are what truly set me apart from so many others.
Details, Details, Details…From the dots of icing on the wedding cake to dotting the “i”s on every contract, I pride myself on having an eye for all details. I wish I could say that wedding planning is about only rose petals and wedding cake, but it is so much more. Having the knowledge, resources, and know-how at my fingertips is most valuable for all my clients.
Talking the Talk…I strive to maintain an open line of communication from the very beginning of the planning process to long after the cake is eaten and the flowers have died. (I go from the ballroom, then virtually the honeymoon, and ultimately the delivery room.)
Walking the Walk…Throughout the planning process, I hold my client’s hands every step of the way (and I am literally right behind them to tell them when to start walking down the aisle).
Bippidi ~ Bobbidi~ Boo…An amazing wedding planner can alleviate the headaches and the stress, be a mediator, be a therapist, be a friend, and basically end up being a fairy godmother. I am proud to carry the title that my bride tribe has given me #yourfairygodmother. We all know Cinderella had one, so why shouldn’t you?
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
Building a social media platform takes a lot of work and time. It can be so much fun but also extremely frustrating. Patience (thank gosh, I have lots) and plenty of posts are what one needs to build a great base. My goal was (and still is) to have a real following. I didn’t (and don’t) want to purchase fans and followers. I want my presence in the virtual world to be authentic, so I manage all my pages by myself. It is very important that my followers and fans hear my voice through my words and images so they get to know me both professionally and personally. By doing so, I hope those scrolling can see my passion for what I do as well as my personality.
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
There is nothing better than working on an event for a year (and sometimes longer) and having all the long hours, overwhelming dedication, hard work, and countless lists and conversations come to life. Although events such as weddings are quite costly, finally showing a client the executed vision as well as every little detail, seeing their reaction, and then watching all the moments filled with so much love is always priceless.
