Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Betsy Holleman. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Betsy, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
Have you ever been to a concert? One where the artist was so energetic, talented and left you wanting an Encore? People are just like concerts or I believe we were created to be. A good, genuine, healthy relationship should leave you wanting more time with the other person. Our culture doesn’t seem to promote or cheer on connection in the way I believe relationships should be. Encore Consulting, LLC was created by two women – mothers, business women, friends, who enjoy and appreciate good connection and relationship. Our mission is to teach the younger generation soft skills, connection and professional etiquette all while holding true to your own morals and value system.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I’m Betsy Holleman and my business partner is Brittany Shortt. We both have an extensive background in fundraising and are extremely passionate about relationships. We purchased a franchise and taught etiquette classes for years. We grew to understand that some of the curriculum didn’t seem to resonate with children of every socioeconomic level, so we changed our thinking a bit and began to focus on character and integrity based curriculum. The more we dug into it the more we thought every single age group could benefit from self development and soft skills training to refine their relational skills. The more you know about yourself, the better you can engage in and maintain relationships. Our business, Encore Consulting, works with all age levels to refine their soft skills, develop professionally and individually all while finding the strength to pursue their passion. We are proud that our curriculum is based on compassion and kindness with the desire to genuinely connect.

How’d you meet your business partner?
I have to say I really hit the jackpot with my business partner. We live very similar lives with the same core values but we are completely different in our strengths and interests, which is why I believe we mesh so well. Brittany, slows me down and makes me critically think. I speed her up and challenge her! It’s a beautiful connection and at the heart of what we try to teach. Relationships are not always easy but when you know yourself through and through – it’s easy to make a genuine connection with just about anyone.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
Brittany and I have been in business together for over 5 years now. We have set lofty goals but this business has taken us time to build because self development is so important to us. It did not hit the ground running when we first started. The curriculum is so incredibly important to us that we have really been in the research and development stage – I mean relationship is the most important thing we have here on earth. By slow process, we still feel like we are in the crawling stage. We know God is leading our timeline though, and we are becoming resilient through it, knowing impact is being made and will continue to be for years to come.
