We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Beth Knox. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Beth below.
Beth, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Are you happier as a business owner? Do you sometimes think about what it would be like to just have a regular job?
Absolutely~ I’m deeply happy as a business owner.
This path feels like the most authentic expression of who I am. I love the freedom it offers, the way it lets me follow inspiration, craft from intuition, and dream something into existence and then watch it take form. Creating my own menu of offerings – from botanical skincare to bodywork to yoga and ritual – feels like weaving my heart into something tangible. And the connections I make with clients and customers, hearing their stories and offering support or care, truly feels like sacred work.
In the very beginning, one of the biggest reasons I stepped into working for myself was my kids. I wanted flexibility- the ability to shape my days around their school life and still offer meaningful work to my community. Over time, that flexibility became something I deeply valued for myself too. I love being able to design my world in a way that feels aligned and spacious.
Of course, the entrepreneurial path isn’t all magic. Sometimes things don’t go according to plan -there are hiccups, slower months, launches that land softer than I had hoped, or seasons where the gains don’t match the effort. In those moments, the comfort of steady structure and a consistent paycheck can look incredibly appealing. It’s human to crave predictability.
And even though my weeks often stretch well past 40 hours, I still love it – the creating, the refining, the execution, the little victories, the quiet faith it takes to keep going.
Being a business owner is a lot. It asks for resilience, intuition, trust, and a willingness to dance with the unknown. But I don’t think I’d have it any other way.

Beth, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Sun Mountain Bath Co. was born from my work with breast cancer patients.
For years, I worked with cancer patients – offering gentle bodywork, lymphatic support, and presence during their treatment at UCHealth. That experience shaped me deeply. It taught me how powerful touch can be, how resilient the human spirit is, and how even the smallest acts of care can feel like lifelines.
In an effort to extend the therapeutic experience beyond the session, I wanted to give them something they could take home—something safe, gentle, and nourishing that supported their healing. So I started crafting Cbd bath bombs, simple botanical oils and pain salves and balms, blending herbs I loved, plant medicine I trusted, and ingredients I knew their bodies could tolerate. Those first little jars became the foundation of Sun Mountain Bath Co. They were made with intention, compassion, and a desire to bring a moment of comfort into someone’s day.
What started as a way to support my oncology clients slowly grew into what it is today:
a wildcrafted, heartfelt, Ayurvedic-inspired skincare line and wellness practice rooted in presence, plants, and the belief that care is a sacred act.
What I Offer
My offerings now weave together many modalities:
• Botanical skincare formulations infused with plant wisdom, herbal energetics, and Ayurveda
• Massage therapy and bodywork including oncology, lymphatic, neuromuscular, myofascial, and Ayurvedic techniques
• Yoga classes and ritual-based movement to reconnect people with breath, embodiment, and nervous-system regulation
• Workshops and community gatherings—from fire cider to elderberry vinegar to dosha-balancing oils—that empower people to create their own wellness rituals
• Seasonal and nature-inspired products that invite people back into connection with themselves and the earth
My work is an intersection of healing arts, herbal craft, intuition, and lived experience.
What Sets Me Apart
I think what sets me apart is the way I integrate everything I’ve learned over 25+ years – not as separate skills, but as one whole ecosystem of care.
I bring:
• A deep background in clinical bodywork
• Ayurvedic knowledge woven through my skincare and classes
• Herbal and botanical formulation experience
• Somatic awareness and trauma-informed guidance
• A spiritual, intuitive, heart-forward approach
• A commitment to community, connection, and accessibility
People often tell me they feel both held and seen in my spaces – whether they’re on my massage table, in a yoga class, or using one of my oils at home.
What I’m Most Proud Of
I’m proud that Sun Mountain Bath Co. grew organically from service, compassion, and a desire to help – not from a business plan. I’m proud of the way my products and offerings continue to evolve with me, season by season.
And I’m proud of the community that has grown around my work: the clients, customers, and students who show up, share their stories, trust me with their care, and allow this work to be meaningful.
What I Want Potential Clients & Customers to Know
I want them to know that everything I create – whether it’s a facial oil, a massage session, a yoga class, or a workshop – is crafted with intention, integrity, and heart.
I want them to know that I honor the whole person: their body, energy, story, and lived experience.
And above all, I want them to know that my work is rooted in service.
Every product, every blend, every offering is designed to support people in feeling more nourished, grounded, radiant, and connected – to themselves and to the natural world.

How’d you think through whether to sell directly on your own site or through a platform like Amazon, Etsy, Cratejoy, etc.
Right now, my products shine brightest at in-person events – pop-ups, artisan markets, workshops, and community gatherings.
That’s where I’ve had the most success, because people can touch, smell, and experience the products, and I get to offer personal guidance. Those conversations are where the magic happens – hearing someone’s skin story, understanding what they’re needing, and helping them choose what will truly support them.
I’m now stepping more fully into the world of e-commerce, which has its own nuances and learning curves. Translating the heart-forward, sensory experience of my in-person sales into an online space is both exciting and challenging. There are so many pieces -imagery, storytelling, flow, customer experience -and I want the website to feel as warm and intentional as meeting me at a market table.
I’m incredibly grateful to be working with Sophia and Sarah at Connect Graffiks, who are helping bring that vision to life. They’re intuitive, creative, and truly magical in the way they’re helping me grow the online side of my business while staying aligned with my brand’s heart and identity.
So while I’ll always adore the connection of in-person markets, I’m excited to keep expanding access through e-commerce, allowing people both near and far to experience these handcrafted, plant-powered offerings.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
I think my reputation has grown from my willingness to say yes and get involved, to keep learning, pivoting, and adapting as my work evolves. Integrity has always been at the heart of what I do – my products came from real hands-on experience with clients and a genuine desire to help, not from trends or guesses.
And honestly, the plants deserve a lot of the credit. I work with powerful botanicals, and people can feel that plant magic in every blend.
So much of my reputation comes down to integrity, curiosity, adaptability, and deep respect for the plants themselves.
