We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Berry Nash a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Berry , appreciate you joining us today. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
I have been a photographer for a few years now and I wanted a space where I could have multiple photo sets that my clients and the public could enjoy! My team and I would watch customers come into our first store just to take pictures. So we knew that creating a bigger space with over 20 sets would be a game changer! We wanted Berry Bomb Selfie Spot to be a space where creatives could be free to really be their creative selves!
Berry , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I am originally from DC. I came down to NC to go to Saint Augustine University. After graduating a working as a librarian, I decided that I wanted a career change. I noticed many people were not doing makeup at the time and I wanted to give it a try and I went to school where I received my Esthetician license. During this time is when I fell in love with photography and decided to merge the two together! At the time, there weren’t many photographers who did makeup and vice versa. I wanted to offer my clients an inclusive experience. It eventually grew into Berry Bomb Selfie Spot where clients can come in, get their makeup done, and have over 20 different sets to be their most free, creative selves. A one stop shop.
How did you build your audience on social media?
I have always been a socialite. I have hosted many events and met so many people around Raleigh and I used that to build my platform. My advice for anyone building their social media presence, is CONSISTENCY! Consistency is key!
What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
The most effective strategy for growing my clientele is posting everyday on social media. That has been the most consistent and effective way for me!
