We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Bernice Taylor. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Bernice below.
Bernice, appreciate you joining us today. We love heartwarming stories – do you have a heartwarming story from your career to share?
At the beginning of 2016, I had let my body get unhealthy while working and taking care of my Mother-in-law. When I came to the realization, I started working towards and achieved a healthy body. Little did I know, later that year I would answer the call to be tested and was a match to donate my kidney to my niece.
Donating at age 52 compelled me to take care of my body and to be an advocate for wellness for women 40 plus. This was the moment that changed the trajectory of my career from Chemist to my current role as an Ageless Vitality Expert.
I enjoy encouraging women to start where they are, prioritizing their health. Eight and a half years later, my niece still has the kidney.

Bernice, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I am a 60-year-old certified personal trainer (who prefers the title of Ageless Vitality Expert) with a passion for helping women over 40 achieve their fitness goals through sensible meals, low-impact, and modified workouts. With a focus on making fitness accessible and sustainable, I design routines that can be done anywhere — including bed workouts for those with limited mobility or space.
After suffering from Afib and SVT (supraventricular tachycardia) for years, a Catheter Ablation which was performed in 2011 had some unforeseen complications which left me with a long recuperation. I had to quit working for sometime. However, with healthy eating and exercise, I was able to get well. My experiences allow me to both empathize and sympathize with my followers.
At 52, I made the life-changing decision to donate one of my kidneys, an experience that was both humbling and transformative. In recognition of this journey, I was honored to be featured on the cover of Transplant Nation magazine in February 2023.
Since the donation, I’ve dedicated myself to empowering women over 40 to lead healthier, more fulfilling lives through fitness. I know firsthand that living a healthy lifestyle doesn’t require high-impact workouts or extreme fitness regimens. It’s about listening to your body and making fitness work for your life, no matter your age.

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
The most effective strategy for growing my clientele is to stay relatable and genuine. My followers know I listen to what their concerns are and tailor my workouts to meet their collective needs.
I always have a smile on my face on camera because I know it uplifts and encourages people. I may be virtual, but the comments let me know I’m effecting change in the lives of women and even some men.

Have you ever had to pivot?
I’m professionally trained as a Chemist and later a teacher. I enjoyed both, however, fitness was always nudging me. I started my social media platforms and encouraged people even in my lab coat.
In 2020 as we were forced to work from home, that desire to focus on the fitness was augmented. On July 16, 2020 I quit my job to build my fitness business and it has been the most fulfilling calling of my life.
