We recently connected with Bernadette Albury and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Bernadette, thanks for joining us today. What’s the backstory behind how you came up with the idea for your business?
As part of my graduate student group assignment, I designed a healthcare business.
Through the use of my journal and vision, I spearheaded the production of the business project in 2015. After I introduced the idea as a class assignment, everyone was amazed.
As a result of my position being eliminated, I began interviewing for managerial positions, and I observed that the interview panelists were very intrigued by my knowledge. Moreover, interviewers would ask a wide range of question to improve their organization. Therefore, I began withholding information once I noticed this was happening and realized it was much needed in the healthcare finance sector. According to the interviewer panel, I would need more supervisory experience to become a manager or director. Over the years, I rose to supervisory levels in Denial Management, where I gained real-world experience. Managerial positions were achieved in the managed care area involving denial management, contract management, and physician services.
Bernadette, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

Her expertise lies in identifying and evaluating organizational pain points as implementing innovative solutions and partnerships to drive bottom-line growth. Currently serving as an advocate for Multiple Sclerosis and participating in community outreach events. Enjoys jazz music and the arts.
After the death of my father, I initially sought to enroll in a paralegal program, but instead enrolled in a medical coding program that seemed more interesting, which led me to a career in healthcare.
The healthcare industry has been my home for more than 23 years as a healthcare consultant, I have served in various capacities, such as managing provider contracts, overseeing and implementing denial management processes, and overseeing and structuring physician services.
My passion for assisting clinicians with contractual issues, claim aversion, and developing mechanisms for maximizing their contractual agreements stems from working closely with a medical director for many years, uncovering and investing strategies on the basis of majority denials. This inspired me to do something and educate clinicians on how payers view services rendered so that the gap between them can be bridged.
Our services include webinars, business development, training, revenue cycle management, managed care services, and strategy consulting.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
As a mid-20’s adult, I experienced a car accident that later led to the discovery of Multiple Sclerosis (MS), resulting in a debilitating state with several hospital admissions for a long period. The ability to cope with multiple sclerosis changed my endurance to thrive, eat healthier, and create daily devotionals for family members and close friends as an encouragement. Throughout the years, researching MS and attending seminars prompted the urge to become an advocate with minimal symptoms.
Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
As affordable healthcare took hold in 2014, my career shifted in many ways, including position eliminations, departmental outsourcing, and pay scale fluctuations, which shifted my career trajectory to broaden my skillsets and obtain a graduate degree so I could remain competitive.
