We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Beny Pirzadeh. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Beny below.
Beny, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. We’d love to hear the backstory behind a risk you’ve taken – whether big or small, walk us through what it was like and how it ultimately turned out.
One of the biggest risks I’ve ever taken was committing to pursue music full-time. It’s always been a deep passion of mine, but given the nature of the industry and its intense competition, I knew it would be a challenging path. I spent years honing my sound as an artist and developing my skills as a vocalist and producer. Now, after all that time and effort, I feel confident in the work I’m creating. Starting out as an unknown artist from Toronto, I’ve reached a pivotal moment in my career. I’m constantly pushing myself to evolve as an artist. My next major risk was relocating to Los Angeles, uprooting my life to fully immerse myself in this journey of artistic growth.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I’ve always felt that I was an artist at heart. From a young age, I was naturally drawn to art and could appreciate its depth and beauty. Over time, music became my primary focus as an artist, and I’ve pushed myself to great lengths to reach the point I’m at today. Through years of refining my sound, which I now describe as Retro-Pop, I’ve learned to tap into my true self and express my emotions through melodies, lyrics, and production. It’s been an incredible journey, especially these past few years in LA. The people I surround myself with have been invaluable; they inspire me every day. Many of my friends are in music and film, each striving for their own version of success, and watching them thrive fuels my drive to keep going and never give up. I know that what I create has value, and I’m passionate about sharing that with the world. Instead of seeing others as competition, I believe in collaboration. By bringing like-minded creatives together, we can all succeed and lift each other up.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
Absolutely! My ultimate mission as an artist is to use storytelling to connect with people and inspire them. Beyond music, I’m also a filmmaker and VFX artist, working extensively with CGI and special effects. Whether it’s through acting or behind the scenes in editing and VFX, I immerse myself in both the creative and technical sides of production. I believe this combination of skills sets me apart and allows me to craft stories in a way that resonates. Whether it’s for a song or a film, my goal is always to evoke emotion and inspire others to chase their own passions.

Are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?
As an artist who consistently creates music, I’ve come to realize how crucial live performances are to a music career. It’s something I wish I had understood earlier in my creative journey. Truthfully, I was terrified when I first started out—the idea of connecting with people, being in front of an audience, and putting myself out there was overwhelming. Every time someone would tell me how important it was to play live shows, I would panic and limit myself. But now, since moving to LA, I’ve lost track of how many shows I’ve performed. It’s become second nature, and the thrill of it has replaced my initial fear. I feel confident in my music, and that confidence shines on stage. It’s all about having fun and doing what I love. Through this process of booking shows and performing, I’ve made so many valuable connections that I never would have had if I had stayed locked away in fear.
