We recently connected with Benjamin Brothers and have shared our conversation below.
Benjamin, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. So, naming is such a challenge. How did you come up with the name of your brand?
One day I was mowing my lawn and thinking about the future and what I wanted the name of my future business to be. While driving I suddenly came almost overwhelmed about the idea of “Mother Nature” and all she encompasses. The birds were singing, bugs were buzzing, and the leaves were practically dancing with the wind. I thought to myself, “Why hasn’t anyone ever tapped into “Father Nature”? I had just became a father and knew there was something magical about becoming a father. This was it, I thought to myself, “Father Nature” will be my company name. It has so many meanings yet it is virtually an unexplored idea. Father Nature then became the name of my company and it has been for 15+ years.

Benjamin, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is Ben Brothers and started my company “Father Nature” in 2018. I was struggling with the age old question, “What do I want to do with my life?”. I am an artist so I began thinking of what I wanted to create in order to make some money. I began to think of many industries out there and found one subject that interested me the most, farming. It seems as though many products are reliant on agriculture, which is why I am currently farming. I am proud of what Father Nature has become and it makes me happy to know many people I meet have a great respect for farming and they see the need for local organic farmers.

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
My most effective strategy for growing clientele is being consistent. I live in a small rural village and to be a good salesman here you have to be inventive and my strategy is to show these individuals that I am willing to push hard to be there with the peoples consistent selection of fresh produce.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
My reputation has been built with the flavor and variety of produce presented at my market stand and CSA(community supported agriculture). I strive to introduce people to interesting flavors and also reintroduce quality summer staples such as green beans. The standards of taste and quality are being raised.
