Ben umansky , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
Our mission is rooted in being authentic and sharing our true selves with the people and communities we connect with. At BluPoetry, we aim to spread an energy of love, appreciation, and kindness in everything we do. This journey isn’t just about creating art, videos and photography—it’s about building meaningful relationships and approaching each connection with professionalism and genuine care.
Through art, words, and countless other forms of expression, we strive to be of service to those around us. We believe in the beauty of giving and receiving, where creativity and connection come together to create something truly special. Our mission is to contribute to a world filled with love and generosity, one heartfelt moment at a time.

At BluPoetry, we bring our love for creativity, connection, and storytelling to everything we do. Together, we’ve built a creative business that blends our passions for art and community.
As an artist, I create video art portraits that are deeply personal and heartfelt. These pieces are inspired by my feelings and understanding of the person I’m creating for. It’s an intuitive process—a visual collage that combines imagery, animation, and other elements to capture their essence. I often surprise people with these pieces, and their reactions are priceless. It’s my way of connecting with others and sharing love through art.
At BluPoetry, we offer creative services across three main areas:
Video Production: From Business Essence Videos that highlight brands and businesses, to Event Essence videos, Wedding Films, Video Art Portraits, Music Videos, Family Moments, and more, we bring stories to life with vibrant visuals.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
There are so many rewards to being connected to creativity. For us, creativity isn’t just about the art we make—it’s about the way we live our lives. We believe that everyone is creative, whether they realize it or not, because we’re all constantly creating our own realities. To turn that creativity into a profession is a gift—it allows us to spend our time doing what we love while connecting with people in meaningful ways.
When you follow your passion purely for the joy of it, good things naturally happen. For us, that’s what creativity is: a way of being, a way of connecting, and a way of sharing love. It’s also about being connected to your heart, because that’s where creativity comes from.
The most rewarding part is that we get to experience the beauty of life—together and with others. When you can create from the heart, love yourself and those around you, and share that with the world, it’s the greatest gift of all.
We’d love to hear about how you met your business partner.
We first met in 2012 at Kibbutz Ketura, a small community in the middle of the desert in southern Israel. I (Ben) was the group counselor for Shira’s gap year program before she started her army service, just after I’d completed mine. We worked together landscaping the desert—building terraces, planting trees and flowers—and it was an incredible time in both of our lives.
After that, our paths separated for seven years. During that time, I was mostly in Paris and traveling, while Shira was focused on her own journey. Then, in what felt like a twist of fate, we reconnected during one of my visits to Israel. I knew almost immediately that we were meant to continue our journey together—there wasn’t a shred of doubt.
Shira soon accepted a position as an Israeli emissary in Los Angeles, and just a few weeks later, we found ourselves building a new chapter of life together. After two amazing years in LA, we donated most of our belongings and spent two years house-sitting across the United States. We traveled, created art for people we met along the way, and deepened our connection to each other and our purpose.
It was during a house-sitting stay in Montana that BluPoetry was born. “Blu” comes from my love for the color blue, a constant in my life, and “Poetry” is Shira’s name in Hebrew. Together, BluPoetry represents our love, relationship, and the creative energy we want to share with the world.
Today, we are so grateful to call the Boulder area our home. We’re proud to be part of the amazing communities here and to share our work, our hearts, and our journey with those around us.
