We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Ben Quintanilla. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Ben below.
Ben , appreciate you joining us today. Let’s talk about innovation. What’s the most innovative thing you’ve done in your career?
When I started designing computer I always treated them as fine art sculptures that can be used in a functional way. Which, lead to designing one of the first style which incorporated bent brass tubes in the industry which give my work an industrial feel which I’m still known for. It just give a fresh look into computers.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
My name is Ben Q. which have been photographing for over 12 years professionally. What better way to take two of my passions which is industrial design and photography and merge them together. When I first started this business I notice that in the tech industry it helps creating 1 of 1 custom computers when its comes to showing off the newest product campaigns. Not only its makes an impact but made the tech brands stand out from the crowd.
So in a nut shell I created custom pieces to show off there products in a MODS BY BEN style.
What I do love is designing and then making it happen in real life and seeing the community get inspired by a vision that I had in my head. Computers have come a long way but the design elements is still growing over time. Now with social media more eyes on this type of art form which brings better ideas on what a computer can be and used for.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
One of my big goals is to eventually have my work featured in an art gallery. I think there’s still a gap when it comes to how tech is viewed in the fine art world—it’s not always seen as ‘art’ in the traditional sense. I’d love to help shift that perception and show that tech can absolutely belong in those spaces.

Looking back, are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?
I can’t think of a specific resource I wish I’d known about when I started out in the creative market, but I do wish I had heard more full stories from other creators—the ups and the downs, not just the highlight reels. That kind of honesty would’ve been really helpful early on.
