We recently connected with Ben Loyd and have shared our conversation below.
Ben, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.
I was in my later 40’s and trying to exercise and eat right and I was not getting any muscle tone nor was I losing weight. After many articles and videos I learned about Testosterone and how it played the critical role in what I was trying to accomplish, BUT testosterone shots and supplements can raise blood pressure. I was able to find a group which created a supplement that effected the precursors to testosterone so the body would make it naturally and not cause any blood pressure challenges. This then allowed me to make progress in weight loss. I learned of certain foods that a man needs to eat to suppress estrogen and continued to add those to my diet. This along with specific compound exercises and yoga for flexibility, enabled me to lose 75 pounds. People began seeing the tremendous changes in me and they along with my doctor asked how I did this. I began to share with other men as like me they did not realize they could recover their strength from their youth. I decided this could be a good business that could help educated men in health and enable them to feel better and help them in relationships and family dynamics. This approach was known, but not widely it seemed as most men went for shots and dealt with blood pressure challenges. I began sharing this as I knew what it was like to think that nothing would work and I was too old to be able to enjoy life like I once did. Sharing with men that there was a change they could make a difference in their own life by changing just a few things, made me very happy and them as well!
Ben, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Loyd’s Discovery is the vision of one man’s journey to regain control of his health. After reaching his early 40’s, Ben Loyd, noticed changes due to the decline in his testosterone levels causing weight gain, lethargy, lack of focus, hypertension and sleep issues. Being an engineer and understanding that there is a cause and effect to everything, he started his journey to take charge of his health and reclaim his vitality. This led him to research the causes of testosterone decline which increases as men age and to find a solution to allow him to lead a healthier and happier life. In doing so, he found not only the reason, but discovered how to increase and ultimately maintain healthy testosterone levels as you age. The process of affecting the precursors to testosterone via supplementation is vital if you want to have your body continue to create its own indefinitely. It ensures that the body does not raise its blood pressure which is common with the use of synthetic testosterone. Testosterone injections have also been known to inhibit the body from making testosterone and then becomes dependent upon the injections which could lead to many other health challenges!
Documenting all the supplements, the foods he was preparing and the type of exercises he did to maximize his workout routine, he developed a program to help other men who were struggling with the decrease of testosterone. Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
Men who are business owners and want to take charge of their life. A man who knows there is a challenge AND is seeking for answers is a man who can be taught to take control of their own health. In conclusion, men who truly want to be the best versions of themselves regardless of their age are the best clients I’ve found.
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
That my value set about health is what everyone else also believes.
The way I view health is clearly not how others view this subject. I made the assumption that everyone believes that health and being healthy is a priority. What I found was people say what they believe others want to hear, but do not truly believe or take the necessary steps to be healthy. They talk but never act on those beliefs. When pressed they make excuses for what is the most important thing for them to lead a happy and fulfilling life.
